Liara: "Maybe there won't be as many guards inside now!"
Shepard: "Ha! Keep dreaming, T'Soni."
In ME1, Liara is definitely not as street smart as the rest of the crew, but by ME2 , you can tell that the last two years have changed that. Finally out in the real world, away from Prothean dig sites.

Liara may be a a little crazy over what happened to the protheans. but in mass effect 2, she's quit over that.
I wouldn't say so. To me, it seems quite obvious that she maintains her passion for the Protheans. After all, she has kept several Prothean artifacts in her apartment, in addition to a large painting of Ilos. I don't think her passion for them has waned in the slightest.
The only thing that differs from ME1 is that Liara now knows of the true nature of their extinction.

Yeah, that's true...she's gained some street smarts on top of her book smarts.
Now she's dangerous

Dangerous is right. I definitely love how independent she is ME2.

Indeed!
I think Liara's line at the end of LotSB, in which she states that she is, as us humans say, "taken," is an interesting way of showcasing how her relative inexperience with humans, which was prevalent during the events of ME1, has completely evaporated.

When I read that it was terrible, I immediately went to the Mass Effect wiki to read the summaries. Thanks for the link though!
But, shoot, that stinks that she is characterized so poorly. I was hoping it would be a good filler for the two years between 1 and 2....
Although, I do have a question. Could her bratty, teenage behavior be a result of loss? People act very different and irrational when grieving. Do you think that's why they depicted her that way?
The comic takes place 2 months after Shepard's death. I don't think she would have changed that quickly. However, the Liara in the comic does match Liara in LOTSB, which I think the DLC team was trying to do, as they claimed.

1. (ME2) Instead of hacking the terminals and finding out the long way, I like the conversation when you immediately give Liara the Shadow Broker data. Especially when you are able to tell her 'You saved me' and hear her stumble over her words. "I didn't think you'd feel..."
2. (ME1) This is probably lame, but I definitely like how she brings up her attraction to you and asks you if there's anything there.
3. (ME2) When you are talking with Liara in your quarters at the end of LotSB, you have the option of saying, 'That's a big promise...' and 'Done'. I usually choose 'that's a big promise' because I love the dialogue. But I tried the 'done' dialogue choice recently and the conversation that ensues is wonderful. "You make a compelling argument...." "Oh, I'm just getting started..."

I love the 2 chances you get as a paragon option to stop Liara and ask her About your relationship , that was most touching.

Since there are so many different things to discover about Liara when you pick different dialogue paths, or play in a certain order, etc. what would you say are the 3 best discovery scenes that you've experienced?
I liked it in LotSB when I said 'Goodbye' instead of asking Liara about the relationship and she stopped me from leaving in order to discuss the relationship.
I also like some of the Renegon lines in ME1...I discovered you can call Liara 'obsessed' b/c she looked into your history, and she lets you have it a bit after that XD
Another one? Hmmm....recently I skipped the third romance dialog with Liara in ME1 and she will explain the asari union during the pre-Ilos scene to you. It was kind of cool.

ME2: discovering the "It's busy... it's... crazy... It would be nice if I could join you... like old times...". Because it shows that Liara really doesn't like what she's doing, and really wishes to join you.
LOTSB: Discovering the exclusive renegade romance line, where she tells you "Cerberus knew you and I... They said they'd bring you back..."
And LOTSB: Discovering the "Wait!... About before, when we kissed.... I know you're not with anyone know... But that doesn't mean... Just because we were together before... I miss you..."

Damnit you guys... I'm so close to finishing up ME1 again and now you're gonna make me rush through everything just so I can get to LotSB and play it 10-12 times...

Yeah, I love hitting some of the renegade lines, which cause them to argue a bit. It already makes them seem like a couple waiting to happen.

Thanks! I'll be sure to check it out!
Anyway, lines of dialogue that I have discovered for myself? That's a difficult question. During one LotSB playthrough, I accidentally selected "Goodbye" when leaving the Shadow Broker Base at the end, causing Liara to question Shepard on the status of the romance. I thought that was quite interesting, and it's clear to see that Liara wishes to spend time with Shepard.
Additionally, I'd recommend that you try saving Noveria until last when playing through ME1. During the Virmire debriefing, Liara will describe the situation regarding the Mu Relay in great detail, similar to how Benezia will normally do so during her confrontation with Shepard. It's quite incredible to hear Liara recall this information in great detail, and with perfect clarity. Again, it's another example of her exceptional intelligence.

But, shoot, I won't be home until tomorrow night! I have to wait forever to try all of these out...
@TheMarshal - I totally understand. I'm on my third playthrough of Me1/Me2. I'm only halfway through Me1 at this point, so all this talk of conversation options is making me antsy.

I just found out about this a few days ago. I opted to do Virmire last, since it seemed the most logical, but Benezia urged me to hurry because Saren had the coordinates for the Mu Relay, so having to go to Virmire AFTER that seems a little odd...

It's interesting that you say that. I did the same thing. To be honest, I actually prefer that option now to the other. I feel that it suits both characters a little better. At least in my Shepard's world it does. I've just always felt that there is so much emotion involved when Liara is the one to bring it up.

That's how I play LotSB there. But I selected that option by accident the first time. I remember my heart almost stopped for a second ! "What have I done ?"

Well, before getting the vision from the second beacon, Liara doesn't have the knowledge to go to Ilos. Thus, why they don't go after finding the Relay.
