Sorry for the derail, guys, but still some business to take care of.

EA bought Bio in October 2007. That's before ME1 was released, not 2.

Make that two errors, since the time between ME1 and ME2's release is two years and two months, not three years.

Yep, two years and two months between ME1 and ME2, like I said.

The EA purchase of Bio was announced in October 2007, before ME1 shipped. It took full effect in mid-January 2008. So two full years between EA taking control of Bio and ME2's release. Two years is your idea of "just after"?

Kid, if you're going to troll, you'll have to do better than this.

I also dislike coffee, which is wildly popular.

We agree on this point as well!  Coffee is a disgusting abomination.

*looks at these two as if they are space aliens*

More for me then!

There's coffee and then there's coffee.

Of course!

Granted most people I know - and I imagine most Americans - drink "coffee" not coffee.

Back on topic: (Edit: looks like I'm still a topic behind)

When I'm not drinking beer -- which isn't all that often -- I go for martinis. And I mean real martinis, meaning gin. I'm something of a heretic, though, since I don't think that olives actually do much for the experience.

I'm more of a tea man myself.

Tea's good too. Rooibos/red tea is fantastic. Green tea strikes me as too insubstantial and as far as black tea goes I would rather have coffee - unless it's (unsweet) iced tea.

Well, if you guys mean by coffee the powder you mix with boiled water and drink in tankard-size bigass cups, I don't know about that. But if you mean the beans you cook in coffee pots and drink in small cups, now we're talking.

As for tea, I drink about thirty of these everyday:

*looks over at kitchen*  I have a burr grinder and alternate between pouring the results into my espresso machine or my French press.  I lack the proper tools to do a good Turkish coffee, though I've had it and it's pretty good.

I assume you're referring to... drip coffee?  Instant (essentially dehydrated coffee)?

yea, not a fan of Black tea at all. red tea is quite good though, but my main tea drink is green.

And none of that cheap, disgusting tea bag crap. Tea leaves all they way. Tastes so much better

Tool wise, all you need is a pot and a stove. But it takes skill. Ten people try it, only one gets it right.

Ah, yeah, instant coffee. Not quite popular around here. With reason, you understand.

I thought you need a special kind of pot to do a good Turkish?

You guys are getting seriously off topic.

This has probably already been said but the main reason people are complaining is because they are worried that EA/Bioware are going to turn Dragon Age into Dragon Effect: Reaping of the Old Gods.

DAO sold more than ME and ME2 did (cross platform) or so I am told. And the people who are fans of DAO or rather the ones who are complaining the most about it arent fans of ME and so really dont like the new direction. There has been sarcastic comments made that they are expecting Shepard to pay a visit to Thedas in his effort to stop The Reapers etc.

I dont personally think the complaints are very fair or all that accurate. We dont really know much about the game and some of what we "know" is actually misinformation spread by haters and idiots.

For example one of the things I see cropping up as a complaint is the lack of overhead camera for the PC edition in DA2. Casey Hudson (if you can believe anything he says) and others have repeatedly stated that the Overhead Camera hadnt been implemented for E3 last year but WILL be implemented (or already has been since).

Another source of complaining I have seen is the stupid assumption that a sequel has to have the same protagonist as the first game; which I dont know where people are getting that from as plainly sequels dont have to have the same protagonist and actually sequels that DO have the same protagonist as the original game are the exception rather than the norm.

I have seen some valid points made about some things so far but not many if I am completely honest. Most of it seems to be ****ing for the sake of ****ing really.

Have any of you had a good jasmine tea? I drank a lot of it when I was in Hong Kong and bought a big thing of jasmine tea leaves (still haven't gone through the whole thing yet 2 years later). Smells as good as it tastes. I'm also a big fan of chai (proper chai, with a little milk in it) and black teas with honey though generally I prefer a good coffee to a black tea. Green tea is good on those awkward days when it's too warm for most teas. Coffee-wise, yeah I usually drink the "instant" stuff but it's gourmet instant stuff and not like instant stuff in the US. That's mostly due to my laziness though, a good French press is hard to say no to if someone else is offering it.

Yep, I'll drink to that. That about sums up the whole thread :)

To put it simple:

A few trolls aside, people complain about changes they feel will make the game less fun for them.

Less understandable is why some people who like these changes like to complain about those who don’t, really.

I find that the more hate that something/someone has, the more successful they are. Whether it be Dragon Age, Mass Effect, the Yankees, Lebron James, John Cena, Republicans, Justin Bieber...

@Wonderllama4 lmao that can be true because the bigger something is the more passionate people are but personally I think they should keep me seperate from da because i loved da:o for the most part (didnt like all the waves of completely useless mobs)

but i can see why they are tryin this and im ok with it and looking forward to it because Bioware has done great in the past. If it works thats great but if not I hope they revert to their original way and not act stubborn just cause it works in one game it will work in all and try and make it work and make it even worse...

I will keep any complaints about the game untill I have actually paid for it, and played it. its a video game, not a year of my real life, after all.

You know it is not only this. I wonder if those who complain about Bioware play RPGs from other developers as well. Because if you play those you never again complain about Bioware games ... much.

It is Bioware high quality that creates a lot of expectations and a more demanding public, that’s true.

Announced in '07, FINALIZED in '08, AFTER the release of ME. Microsoft published the first, then EA stepped in for the second.

"Change is bad" lol......that and some people just need to complain.

Dragon Age 2 is gonna be great, complaining isn't gonna make it better.
