It doesn't matter who the carrier is, problems are going to happen.  I've had several significant issues with every carrier over the years.  You could ship these lithos suspended in a biotic field inside of a steel box and USPS/FedEx/UPS are sure to find a way to mess it up.  Some of them even see it as a challenge (an old FedEx carrier's words, not mine).
And thank god for those new polybags.  Our carrier left a Tali litho sitting in the snow last week.  Image IPB
Trust me, when you live in the city that is consistenly ranked the #1 worst USPS  in the country, it matters who the carrier is. ;) I'm not saying they all don't screw up, but I challenge you to live in Chicago and say it doesn't matter a year later, lol
Actually I lived in Chicago up until october of this year and never once have I had a serious damaged lithograph arrive. Maybe I was just lucky?

you must be lucky, I live in a nice neighborhood and my USPS stuff was always trashed compared to my UPS. I also get at least four packages every few days delivered too, so my odds might be higher. I don't know about your frequency. But yeah, look it up, worst in the country. hooray! lol:P

It is kind of weird the different packaging being used over the last month or so:

-Preorder of Blightlands/Hawkee came with an outer box and then inside each litho was in a plastic bag along with the usual cardboard (Both came perfectly)

-Preorder of Tali, Grunt and Thane came exactly like the Blightlands/Hawkee but without the outside box (Some very minor corner damage)

-Preorder of 5 Dead Space/Dead Space 2 lithos newer packaging but without the plastic bags around each, all 5 had corners bent, luckily the frames I got will hide it.

I love these lithos to death and will continue buying them, but I second the notion that the outer box is ideal.

Having said that, I do think it's typically regional as to which of the big three is the worst for a particular customer.

Well then, howdy neighbor.  Because, I DO live in Chicago.  Have lived here all of my life in fact.

I've also dealt with all of the major carriers for several years, professionally and otherwise.  I have a list of horror stories several miles long from each of them.

The big difference is that USPS customer service is the worst of the three.  If something happens to your package it'll be a cold day in hell before they fess up to their mistakes and actually do something about it.

If you are the couple to the right of me, I really hate your dog...

Yeah, insurance is pointless with USPS. Yes, I too have some horror stories, but they are all the post office. Are we really e-peening over post offices here? Well you can win, they all suck equally, with the exception of my neighborhood in Chicago, Columbus, Charlottesville, and Newport News. I'll give you the rest of the country. Why do I feel like I'm playing a white trash version of RISK? lol

P.S.

You're a great artist.

P.P.S.
USPS is still the worst. :P

Haha!  Nope, sorry.  More of a cat person.

Hmm, well.  It's not an ideal win, but I suppose I'll take it anyway since the rest of this week has had so much fail in it.  Well played.  Image IPB

very disappointed to see a step backward in the packaging... both Legion and Miranda are damaged

Wait... they changed the packagaing again? How is it different? They raised prices specifically for the new packaging for lithos (fully enclosed box, lithos in plastic sleeves and cardboardbetween each litho). Is that not the case now?

It probably is, but the new packaging allows the corners to become damaged very easily.

Agreed, completely.  It's true, overall, there's now much more protection for the lithos, BUT, the corners of the lithos, are now much more signficantly suceptible to damages.  Since the new packaging, I had quite a few lithos arrived damaged, again specifically only the corners.  For me anyways, this had never occured once, with the old packaging.

Better a slightly bent corner though than having whole sections of paint missing. The new packaging is fairly good, most corner bends are extremely small and mild. Back when it was the styrofoam though it was like sandpaper... it wasn't shaved properly and would rub the paint right off. Now, I did suggest some of the super soft foam, but I am a fan of the new packaging.

The packaging was amazing on my Tali but there still managed to be a corner bent. I have no doubt that the usps are going out of their way to smack it around. It's small enough not to be concerned over (my frame hides it) but still annoying.

In my area anything that fedex or ups delivers is generally a-ok... usps is an entirely different monster.

From my experience personally, most lithographs I have gotten have had only slight bends in the corners. However, none of them I have been too concerned with and they were easily covered by the frame. Actually I just got Miranda and Legion recently and they have slight bends but nothing that a frame won't cover. So long story short, for me the only way I would return them if they had a huge tear or some other noticeable flaw.

Ditto, but my Miranda and Legion are 100% pristine ^_^!

What, 30 minutes or so left? If it starts at 10 AM MST on the dot, that is.

Any confirmation if this is individual or what Chris said in the other topic that these are 2-packs?

I'd have to assume they are doing 2 packs again. While it's not an issue with me, it is a little odd that they'd go back to two packs again. I guess they don't like their odds of selling out Legion in a quick fashion.

I certainly see where you're coming from.  I know they are doing a split release again, it would have been nice if at least one of them were strait singles, since money is tight right now for a lot of people, and they may only really want one.

I dont understand why they'd do another 2 pack. It's not like the characters need to hold hands.

Are they definitely doing the 2 pack release?

If so - that is very disappointing. Surely there will be an individual release?
