Why do people keep saying he looks like Anders? He doesn't even REMOTELY look like Anders to me.  What are you people seeing that I'm not?

*shrug* I don't believe it's Anders, either, but I can see why some think it might be. Gismo (Guy In Sexy Mage Outerwear) and Anders both have slightly similar facial structure and blonde hair, which seems to be pulled back into a ponytail. I can't say for certain as there isn't a side shot available, but his hair may just be cut very short. I really couldn't say.

Moving on, I'd like to say that from what I've seen, I have no doubts in my mind that DA2 will be an amazing game. Bioware has never failed to impress me with their stories, characters, and gameplay. I'm genuinely looking forward to playing this on both the PC and the 360, especially the PC as it's harder to bring my 360 along on very lengthy road trips. Image IPB

Oh, I also have one last thing I wish to add to those who seem to have their knicker-weasels in a twist regarding the look and feel of DA2. If you have issues with how something is going (be it graphics, gameplay, what have you), it's usually more helpful to Bioware if you explain why you feel this way and what you think needs to be improved upon, whilst remaining respectful, of course. Just spouting, "OMG, THIS SUCKS!!" isn't helping anyone. When does it ever? Remember, folks: Constructive Criticism -- It's not just for artists anymore. Image IPB

Some things I LOVED from the video:

1. VA for Hawke & Isabela are very good. B)
2. Got to see different armors.
3. Animations looked pretty solid (except for one part - more on that later)B)

Some things that WORRIED me from the video:

1. Can we tune the amount of blood that splatters on the characters?
2. Is the blood smear always on Hawke's face? I thought it was only if you played as a blood mage.<_<

3. The animation on what looked to be the actual gameplay (I guess it looked like a rogue Hawke) looks really rushed or maybe missing some frames and not finished (but that should be true since the game is not finished yet :P).

I just realized too, that when CGI Hawke is walking toward the camera and the Dragon Age 2 logo shows up, his staff dips below the pool of blood and through the floor he is walking on...... eh, whatever!

Overall though, DA2 is looking pretty good, and definitely am gonna pick up my 2 copies on Launch! :D

Overall I found that one of the most interesting things release to-date .. a bit less concerned in some areas.

So still got my issues (and they haven't changed), but ... ah well.

@ Sir Ulrich Von Lichenstien

Do you realize how badly you misspelled your name? It's "Lichtenstein."   Too bad.  He's a great character.

So, video is loading on youtube and I was reading the comments. There are LOTS of people who think that they can't make their own character. Now that I think about that, we of the forum get a lot of information, hm.

And yet so many on the forums complain about a lack of information. Amazing, isn't it?

We're spoiled. And we don't even know it.

Yes, we are :<

Now, about Hawke's voice... I don't know how to feel about it. I didn't hate, it just... doesn't fit in any character I could ever try to make.

But goddamn, he's a piece of sexy full of sexy with sexy on top. ...Hm, I'll go to the corner and be quiet, ahem.

We're not spoiled. TW2 has released a ton of specific info and gameplay, Dues Ex has as well. Marvel vs. Capcom releases gameplay and commentary on a regular basis. Sorry, but Bioware has fallen way behind when it comes to informing their fanbase. They seem to be relying on faith more than anything.

Most devs show how their game works long before the release date. Bioware has become the exception. I credit the devs for coming onto the forums, but still, they need to show gameplay. And they have only shown a few seconds of it. Was it PC, Console? Who knows?

I won't pre-order until I see solid pc gameplay like I did when they were showing off Origins. The demos back then were what convinced me to buy the game, and they were several minutes long. They have yet to do that for DA2.

Still waiting...

So from the video, let's see if I got some things clear. They made the graphics and combat better, added a voice for the main character this time. Then they took out the option to make your own character and only put in one storyline like they put in mass effect. So dragon age 2 is basically a medevil mass effect. They should have kept the character creation and multiple story lines and just improve those.

I loved the graphics, I can see all the details in the (sexy) daggers when Hawke is fighting.

...Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if the combat in Origins was fast as in this video. In fact, the combat footage of Origins looked a bit different, to me. Maybe I'm just confused, anyway.

Yes, and DA:O had all those mutiple storylines...oh wait, it didn't! All our Wardens did the same thing regardless of their specific origines: they: gathered an army and killed the archdemon.

What? The character creator is still there, there was leaked gameplay footage released with someone playing a completely custom Hawke, plus the fact the devs have said several times that the character creator is exactly the same as origins (with perhaps a body slider). So I don't get where you're getting the 'no option to make your own character'

Also, DA:O didn't have multiple storylines, it had multiple endings however the basic plot was still linear: You gather dwarves, elves, mages, redcliffe soliders and end the blight. Also, from what the devs have told us, this will be the same in DA2.

Hmm really? I remember reading a couple of days ago on a thread that the devs said they're might be (they hinted). Or something only those lines.

Basically a previewer made an offhand comment about there being one, and Mike Laidlaw eventually came around and snuffed that one.

There may be more options than DA:O, but mostly it's the same.

Okay....okay...

Does anyone think Matt Goldman, lead Art designer, looks and acts almost exactly like Stig Asmussen, former lead Art designer of God of War 1&2 and now Lead Designer of God of War 3?

I mean, theyre both art directors....its like they are long lost brothers who were seperated at birth!  Anyone?

The voice of Hawke in the video, is that the final voice?

Just sounds a bit posh and stale, with no real character...

P.S. - I'm English btw, so other members, don't just tell me "that's an English accent, durp"

I think it is the final voice we are hearing. I'm pretty sure it's Nicholas Boulton and I'm happy about that. He did a great job voicing Vaughan in DAO.

Whatever he was, it was certainly better than emotionless Sheploo. Im glad for that.

Still would rather silent PC though.

The DAO looked about normal to me. It normally feels bit faster than that to me, but i rarely play with 2h guy in the focus.

Funny thing about the combat -- they spend part of the interview talking how the big thing for DA2 is, they wanted to make the combat feel like the party is "destroying enemies together" compared to DAO etc.

... then the combat footage rolls and DAO has party cooperating to fight the enemies while the DA2 footage has Hawke showing off and destroying the darkspawn all on his own. Much more involved and oapparent cooperation between party members, alright Image IPB

(yeah i know there's supposed to be these combined moves, it's just amusing contrast)

Nothing against Nicholas but I thought Hawke was supposed to be a commoner?
