The rogue needs, like, fireworks and smoke bombs going off after every leap, jump, and teleportation.

I mean, if I'm playing a lithe super-ninja spartan I should at least have some flair.

And at one point he just gives the enemy a dinky kick. That would have been the perfect opportunity to do a backwards flip and kick him in the jaw, following through with a foot-propelled drill spin into the next enemy.

And why didn't the enemy explode? That would have been so much cooler. Like, fountains of blood and smoke and piles of limbs upon which you can impale the next victims.

Very good to know. No more of the DA:O blank stares hopefully! How I hated those...

So the Hawke blank stare of doom will be out of the finished game? Or at least not as prominent?

Generally speaking, we add it in polish - so while I can't promise it won't ever appear, there's going to be a lot more going on with non-speaking characters once we get our polish time in.

Will this dialogue remain neutral amongst all Hawkes or change depending on tone?

Depends on the choice.

Terrible made up examples:

NPC: Will you save my kitten from that carnivorous tree?

PC Choice 1: No way.
PC Choice 2: Leave it to me.
Aggressive version: I'll handle it. Just stay out of the way.
Diplomatic version: Don't worry. I'll save your cat.
Humerous version: Why not? It's been hours since I've been attacked by a potted plant.

versus:

NPC: What will you have today, the usual?

PC Choice 1: The usual.
PC Choice 2: Nothing right now.
PC Choice 3: Pie.

In that case, since it's sort of a stretch to write different tones for, "I'll have pie." that would just be "I'll have pie." One version for all personalities.

Those animated scenes look spiffing, i'd buy a film made like that and i'm not a cartoon person.

That is most relieving, Mr. Epler. Thank you.

I'm trying to picture John Epler's reaction to these kinds of comments after graciously coming here to explain something.  I can't decide between a facepalm, mild anger, or resigned laughter.

Or maybe I'm projecting my reaction onto John.

I'm getting some subtle feeling from this post, you're trying to say something but I'm not quite sure what.

Hey, I actually like Hawke's voice. I thought it would sound like a generic warrior brute, but it sounds perfect for a rogue! Although yes, default Hawke still looks weird. Something about the beard and what Tmp said, the head is too small.

And check this out:

Seems we have a Templar companion of some sort (the armored bamf in the back)? And why is the elf too tall? And the guy next to Aveline looks like Anders a bit...or maybe that's just me.

Uh oh. Stuff is actually coming out now. I'll need to guard myself lest I spoil too much and make the game less fun.

This day just got SO much better. Hawke sounds great, Isabela still reminds me of old Isabela, possible Anders appearance... *Squee!*

I realy liked the elf girl in the animation. Can any devs confirm if she'll appear in the game, or was she cut/merged with another character?

I'm willing to bet that the context of that scene doesn't necessarily imply everyone in the shot is a party member.  Just most of them.

Edit: To make more sense.

I'm willing to bet that the context of that scene is "surrounded by potential hostiles and talking to their leader."

But how do you explain the plethora of followers? Is this a scenario like the Shriek camp ambush in DAO?

PC Choice 1: The usual.
PC Choice 2: Nothing right now.
PC Choice 3: Pie.

In that case, since it's sort of a stretch to write different tones for, "I'll have pie." that would just be "I'll have pie." One version for all personalities.

NPC response to choice 3
*Raises eyebrow*

NPC: Do you like... pie?

Sorry... couldn't resist :D

On a serious note, it does make total sense though. One other thing, if it's possible to answer. I know a while ago there was talk of the fact that if we constantly are going with answers of a certain tone then it will give us more to do with that than the others, but what if Hawke is generally a 'humourous' guy but can find somethings that will make him angry? Like as an example, Hawke is a bit of a joker but when it comes to bad things said about his/her brother or sister (or family in general) he/she is aggressive. Are we going to be able to do that, or would we be tied with being joker Hawke in all conversations after a certain length of time? (also apologies if it has been answered before, not seen it)

Yeah yeah but comeon, he should be staring all way down in that scene. That's completely independent impulse from what's being said, and how Image IPB

I would laugh my ass off if ManHawke sneaks a peak there as she's turning around.  Though I never saw Shepard gawking at Miranda - not as much as the camera itself anyway - so I wouldn't expect it.  However, FemShep practically undressed Jacob with her eyes, so I wouldn't totally put it past them.
