Maybe i am the only one, but i am starting to get a little concerned that so far none of the presented of rumoured characters interest me much, perhaps only Bethany, Varric or Cassandra. Well i guess i will have to wait and see how their personality is, but as a first impression i don´t find many of them interesting. I sure hope that Anders is not back, teh whole comical relief (or clown character) gets old and boring pretty fast.

Yeah, are the outlines in the cover suppose to be all possible companions, if so that is a lot.

That helmed Templar really seems to be standing with this group. Which is good. But I won't be able to change his armor, if he's actually in the party and not just keeping an ey on them. That's less good. On the other hand, I may be able to hide his helm. That's very good when the whole face is covered like that. I do hope there's a s&s warrior in the party, and a templar would be just the ticket.

I think the version demoed at the conventions has Aveline as s&s.

Aveline and the Anders-ish mage are the main LI's in DA2, as Morrigan and Alistair but with switched classes. Isabela and brooding rouge-archer are our new Leliana and Zevran.

That's right, isn't it? I was so busy wondering about the apron that I kind of forgot. I'd still like a templar in the party, though.

I don't know. The guy behind Aveline doesn't strike me as a companion. I feel like he's a merchant who is just standing there while some stuff is going down.

I'm pretty sure the templar and the human male warrior are just guard NPCs. Now, 'Anders' does look like he's with the group. I really don't know what to think. On one hand, it will be awesome to see Anders again. On the other, I'm not sure how they will fit into the storyline. If he is with Hawke before he goes to Amaranthine, that would suck a lot, since we will not be able to change his ending; he will always end up getting captured by Templars and taken awat.

If we see him after events of Awakening (which I doubt since that screenshot seems to be early stage of the game - Aveline doesn't have her armour yet) - they will be retconning Awakening epilogues in which Ander's supposed to stay with the Warden.

Woah.. That is definitely Anders, and that's pretty awesome... His outfit is kinda cool, though his boots seems to have an obscene amount of buckles.

Even in the best possible ending you can get with Anders, he leaves the Wardens for two months, so they could do a cameo and stay true to the Awakening epilogue. 

Of course, after so many of the Origin epilogues got undone/proven false or misleading by Awakening, it would not be surprising if they just did what they wanted with a character like him, considering none of his endings seem to have any bearing on anything else of import. 

This is all speculation, though. The man in the video looks just like Anders, and I'd love for him to be a companion, but I honestly doubt that is the case.

Au contraire, some of the characters who have been identified as "they MUST be party members because it's a SCREENSHOT! WITH PEOPLE!" are not what you think they are.

The Anders clone is not a companion. I'm calling it right now.

I think one of the developers mentioned that each silohuette represents an important person in Hawke's story. Important does not always mean companion worthy however, so it's probably safe to say that a good number of them are little more than NPC's who play a large role in the story.
