I read this and instantly thought of that one cheesy 2nd edition D&D spell that lets you advance a dragon an age category . . .

You know what would be awesome? If one of those journalists could come on the forums and answer all of our questions.

I feel a rare man-squee coming on.

I can't help but be a little enraged though at the prospect of some other dirty Australian getting the chance to play. Why couldn't it have been me? I might not be a journalist; but I do enjoy cold weather!

Were they given the PC version of the game to play?

I'm wondering the same.

Exactly.

Also, poor Aussie lady. It's been around 30 degree C in Sydney the last week (and about the same around the rest of the country). She must be freezing!

Sooo, was that 3 seconds of rogue play today, the "PC footage" that was hinted at by Mr. Laidlaw earlier this week? Or should I stay tuned for more.

Here's a heads up.

I thought I'd mention that we just had 20 or so journaists from around the world (Germany, US, UK, Australia, etc) here at the BioWare studios for a big session of hands on gameplay and interviews with theDragon Age II  Dev team. They're done now and on their way back home to write their articles and previews of Dragon Ager II, but later this month you should be seeing a heap of new information.

Fantastic, and I hope you get a proper gameplay video out before xmas.

I've actually got mixed feelings about this actually. On one hand I really want to know what people's opinions are on the combat mechanics and their overall impression of the game, but on the other, I really don't want the first couple hours of the game's story spoiled for me like what happened with ME2.

I also know I won't have the self-restraint to stay away from whatever information is released, story or otherwise :P

Thanks for the heads up, Mr. Priestly. I look forward to seeing what the game journos have to say about DA 2.

As I said, I do not know what the journalists will discuss or in what detail. From my experience with the press in teh past, especially in previews as opposed to reviews, they generally hit the high (or low) points of what they saw without going too deeply into spoilers. More like "I played a mage. I went to Kirkwall. I beat some guys. It was good and this is why" rather than "I played as a mage. Here is a step by step account of the first 3 hours of my playthrough. I started off..."

Journalists were offered the Xbox 360, PC and PS3. I'm not sure who wrote about what.

I doubt any of them would post on the forum and answer your questions. They get paid to write articles for you to read, not give it away for free here. ;)

Did they take the game back with them to finish and then write a thorough preview, or did they just play it while they were in your Edmonton office, playing a more complete build than was shown at the conventions?

I'm putting money on the 'they had to play at the Edmonton office' choice.

Damn, I hope one of those journalists could sell the game on ebay. I'd pay a fortune to get a hands-on.

My name's Realmjumper and I want to ask you a bunch of questions. One of them being how long has the game been in development. I understand you can't answer this question to keep your competitive edge. However I humbly request you answer the question when the game goes gold. How about it Bioware?
