Anybody who's seen the Character Creator in the demo, can we edit Default Hawke?

I don't mean creating a new face or using different presets, I'm wondering about if we're capable of tweaking "default" Hawke. For example, in Mass Effect I wanted to add longer hair to Sheploo but was unable to do so because once you went into character creation the "face" disappeared.

To those who've played the demo with character creation active, is it the same as Mass Effect or were you able to tweak Default Hawke?

This is relevant to my interests.

I, too, am interested in this.

I actually like the default Hawkes, but wouldn't mind making some tweaks here and there. Instead of having to start over from scratch.

I'm curious about this too. It'd be a more than welcome feature.

I want to know this too. I really like fem!Hawke but I'd like to tweak hairstyle/eyecolour.

Likely no. In the latest dev video we saw them creating the default Hawke model and it's a distinct model, not a modular one. It's also likely based on the ME2 design where the default model is designed more intensively than a typical facemaker one, for obvious reasons.

It's possible but I'd bet that no, it isn't made in the facemaker and so won't be customisable.

I'd defiantly want this too. I always figured we weren't able to in ME because it was more of a facial scan, and tweaking it would mess with the whole thing. I don't think that's the case here with the Hawkes.

Heh, I just restarted ME2 and it irked the hell out me that the default face isn't one of the presets. Though, I thought the Male Shepard default in ME2 was built to a higher quality standard than the rest of the system (more animation points or something like that). Anyways, hopefully they will allow customizing based off the default. I am HORRIBLE at making facial structures look decent in character creators, but sometimes I just want to change hair or eye color or something along those lines.

I like making my own face.

I think the ME2 female default is made in the facemaker, I doubt there's no real life face used ala ME or Assassin's Creed so it is still possible.

If enough people here complain, they'll do it

I really want this too. After seeing Femhawke and how her facial structure looks like a teenage schoolgirl's, I'd like to make her look a bit more like a warrior, but I also like her default face.

I'm convinced they changed her face from the original wallpaper type picture.

Can no one be creative enough to make their own Hawke's?

It's not about that, it's entirely possible to do that and still have this feature. I enjoy playing with defaults from time to time (takes me about an hour or two in character customization) and I was curious if we could change small things. Maybe changing Default Hawke's hair to say... brown, removing the beard. ect

Nope. You see, people like to be told what to do. Linearity is where it's at. People detest freedom. You're the only person in existence who is creative enough to attempt the challenge of defying society and creating your own Hawke.

I'd like this as well tbh... sometimes I'd like a starting point for a 'normal' face, because something like Ugly Shephard, while amusing, surely couldn't actually happen irl, and I don't want to accidentally stuff up and create something that hideous...

The default for Fem!Shep can indeed be made in the character generator, though a few things tweak ever so slightly when you move from the default look into the generator itself.

I'd like to be able to tweak the default Hawke faces if nothing to allow for a quick start on my first playthrough.

When I first get the game, I'll probably be so eager to start playing that I don't want to fiddle around with the CC too much, so that I can jump right into the gameplay and start playing......lol.

If I can take what's otherwise an "ideal" face and just make some tweaks and changes, then that would be perfect........

A change like this is a change the average modder could in about an hour, tops.

Not if the face was scanned as extensively as Sheploo's was. In those instances the character creators from both games were simply too inefficent to recreate such a face. And I'd imagine tweaking the generators to accomodate all the nuances a scanned face could have would require months of work and testing before implementation.

With that said however, both Hawke's seem to posses faces that lack some of the subtle nuances hat distinguished Sheploo's face from all the others - at least from what I can tell thus far. So I wouldn't be surprised if they were changeable.

Faces I make are 'creative.' And by creative, I mean ugly.
