Anybody who's seen the Character Creator in the demo, can we edit Default Hawke?

Works for me! As long as I can still make Hawk look the way I want I'm cool with it!Chris Priestly wrote...
No, you do not edit the default male or female Hawke (at least, not currently. As Mike Laidlaw says "things are still subject to change"). You can use the defaults, you can select from a variety of preset faces or you can create one form scratch.
Thanks!

Can we use defaulthawkes features like hair, nose ect? Or is it going to be like ME where you can't use features used on Shepardloo.

In the latest dev video we saw them creating the default Hawke model and it's a distinct model, not a modular one.

Are there at least more varied and higher quality presets than in DA:O? One thing I noticed about that game was that many of the facial customisation options were removed in the in-game character creator, so if you didn't use the toolset you had to rely on the presets to give the basic shape of your character's face.
Now that we're not getting a DA2 toolset, how are we going to get the same level of choice?

That said Bioware are only getting better at facial technology, even as something of a DA:2 cynic I predict that the character maker will kick ass.

Mike Laidlaw implied there would be more facial customization when compared to DA:O, possibly including but not limited to hair length.
I do not have a link.

Ran into this problem in Mass Effect with trying to give Default Shepard a different Hair style. Hopefully this changes =)

I don't really understand why they're going out of their way to have the very worst possible elements of ME2 be a part of DA2.
Possibly because they don't consider them bad design decisions.

That's not what DA:2 is doing? You can design any face you want using the character creator, you simply cannot tweak the default face.
It's kind of like not being able to modify ShepLoo in Mass Effect. You can still select "Make custom Hawke" and go to town.

The default models Bioware gives us are pleasant enough to look at. And really, if you somehow managed to one-up Bioware at making the next medieval Depp-Pitt-Clooney supermodel, shouldn't the story somehow reflect this fact? Problem is the game won't; so your DPC Hawke will still wander around Feraldon being rejected by even the pugliest of wenches.
When I played Mass Effect (and ME2), I just chose the default male Shep. Sure, it might have been cool to roam around as Michael Jackson Shepard or Sam L. Jackson Shepard for a while, but then the novelty wears off and you realize that you have to go through the whole game looking at Shepard NOT sounding like how he looks.
The only time I even bothered to make a face from scratch was the female Shepard, as the default ones are fugly as hell. Eventually I just copied the best looking code from the face database and used that for all my characters.
Making a super-detailed face generator takes time and effort. I would much rather Bioware spend the time and effort on expanding the game universe and plot, instead of giving us the option between a mullet and a comb-over (in case somebody wants to do a Trump Shepard / Hawke / Money Effect).

Phew, thank goodness. I like to create my own characters. The one thing I hated about ME was the default character. I frankly thought she was not attractive and there wasn't enough options and you have to keep it to import to 2. I am very good at creating distinct and beautiful females with a character creator and was hesitant that they were going to take that option away with the VA.
