Oh, and Isabella is still a ho-bag. Also excellent.

Isabela is a nympho, I seriously hope the second LI is much better. So far, the characters seem like a big downgrade from Origins.

I'd also like to hear FemHawke's voice, if it's better I'll play as female.
To be fair the sample of dialogue we were shown when we were first exposed to Morrigan was "T'is cold in my tent..."Isabela is a nympho, I seriously hope the second LI is much better. So far, the characters seem like a big downgrade from Origins.

Hold on, it's not really confirmed, it's just guessing it's his voice

i don't think it really suits him, it's too sophisticate and upper class, I think he needs a more rugged, husky voice. Or a similar one to Commander Shepard, or perhaps that's just my dislike of Vaughn coming through

It's Nicholas Boulton, MUHAHAHAH!
Check the voice on GameSpot's The Making of Dragon Age II - Part 1.
He voiced a bunch o' characters from Lothering in Origins, including Ser Bryant; and I think the annoying bandit as well.
Internet Movie Database profile.
This would have been a great opportunity to get a big name actor like Hugo Weaving or Edward Norton. It would make the adventure all the more memorable. Too bad i say.

And to Mike_part_trois, try getting a high-profile film actor to do so many lines Hawke has. And voice actors tend to be more professional in this field than film actors.

Buuut I was rooting for Nicholas Boulton anyhow so I'm biased here. Obviously I approve.

But I would have liked to hear Hawke as bit more "grim" person.

Y'know, his mother IS from a noble family, and we have no idea when his father went missing, so it's not inconceivable that he has an upper-class accent.

And how many seconds of gameplay footage was it?

Edit: d'oh I deleted this part by accident, that accent is drilled into people at public school (which is funnily enough actually private) etc. It's not inherent because of DNA or background. alright your family goes a long way to determine your accent but when you're surrounded by what can only described as yeomen peasents and general yokels all your life that accent tends to wear off.
I kind of like it but this acting english voice thing is too silver spoon really. Sounds like he's just been to his oration/elocution lecturer, such a strange thing for a guy who lives in Lothering which is a tiny backwater village in a backwater country.
starting a game walking out of the shack and hearing;
"'ey up me duck"
Well it would be a breath of fresh air, though it'd probably horrify people. What is this fake accent and language they're speaking? Or something.
Alas first time I heard it I hated it but now it's not /that/ bad I think it's the first time voice acting has really bothered me, then again it's the first time I've actually paid much attention to voice acting since It's the first time I've listened to voice acting from a game I'm not playing / have played.

And yes, living among peasantry would have probably given him a coarser accent but come on, have some pity on us non-UK English speakers here. We want to understand the dialogue too. I'll sacrifice authenticity for intelligibility any day of the week.

I didn't suggest it was due to DNA (give me some credit here, I'm not THAT stupid), but that we can safely assume he learned language from his parents, and that if his commoner parent was possibly not present during his upbringing, he most likely learned it from his upper-class mother.

That reminded me of Brad Pitt in Snatch

It's awesome that he sounds like a nobleman. I support Hawke's voice.
hawke's mom must have made it sure that he would end up talking that way.
mother: just because we're living in a rural village that's no excuse for not having a proper education.
