I'm Canadian, sometimes when I go south, I can't understand what an American is saying. I know, that's weird. They speak too fast or something.
I was really hoping Hawke would have a very heavy Newfie accent![]()
(I'm kidding by the way)
I didn't really like Vaughn's voice, but I will reserve judgement on Hawke until I see more footage.
It's cold in the UK? It's -20C here. Ah, I love the cold weather =)
It's pretty cold in the UK, we had a lot of snow last week, where I live (Sheffield) it was the worse snow since 1918 or something like that, South Yorkshire (where Sheffield is) had the worse snow in the UK save for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
As for temperature, it was freezing before but it's stabilized now, around -10C normally more warm than that though. It really depends on where you live.

It's funny. I know a lot of people who can't handle accents at all - my mom included - yet as long as it's the same language I really don't have too much of a problem with them.
Really? The range of English-language accents is huge; surely you must find some harder to understand/more annoying than others?

edited to add: Seems like they did have the VA redo his part to sound older.

That reminds me of how Oghren was just so suave like Spike Spiegel and First Enchanter Irving.
"Come, child !"
Irving gives me the creeps, especially the way he sounds when he asks my warden to escort Duncan to his room. Or maybe that's just me...

More or less difficult to understand? Oh sure, absolutely. But it's not something I really have experience struggling with. I'm not denying there's got to be one out there that would give me trouble, but I haven't really run across it yet.
More annoying? Absolutely. I'd say I'm fairly close to Standard American English, but I'm not really I'm just a military brat who has picked up unfortunate habits from all over the United States. And some are definitely more annoying than others.

That part when he was singing? No. After he started ranting? Sure - most of the words. Proper nouns and regional slang are tough if I haven't heard them before. And that example is probably the hardest to comprehend I've come across, definitely. But I can follow.
I'm more befuddled by the woman's hair at 7:05.

He does a similar rant in each show. The ones where he's drunk are even worse. He's laying it on pretty thick, as you can tell from the rest of the cast, but I've met glaswegians who get that way with a few drinks in them.Upsettingshorts wrote...

Yeah it's not normally this cold this time of the year. It's technically not even winter yet... La Nina effect this year=more snow. Anyhoo off topic.

Bioware's game details are leaked out slowly, they always have been. It's pretty smart from a developer's perspective in many ways to hide the details.
If they save the majority of the budget for a massive attack a couple of weeks out, they'll have hit the target demo's far more effectively than a traditional campaign, slow build for the fans, quick sear for the passing trade.
