Bioware's game details are leaked out slowly, they always have been. It's pretty smart from a developer's perspective in many ways to hide the details.

I would agree, but this is the first time they have forced people to preorder for exclusive game content, and I mean actual content, not some random item to equip, forcing people to buy a game they know next to nothing about or miss out on content from a company with a good reputation.

I didnt really care for male Hawke's voice, it sounded kind of weak to me, but I will probably play Lady Hawke so no biggy.

It's funny. I know a lot of people who can't handle accents at all - my mom included - yet as long as it's the same language I really don't have too much of a problem with them.

Did you look up Rab C Nesbitt?

I can understand maybe 75% of that. I know I'm better at understanding accented English than some people but I definitely have a threshold past which things just become unintelligible. I even once encountered a fellow American whose accent I couldn't understand (he was speaking Hawaiian pidgin, but I guess a pidgin is sort of different than an accent, linguistically), but that's only happened once that I can remember.

 That's 25% more than I managed, and I'm from Glasgow !

SHARN01: Get what you're saying, but I'm fairly certain you'll still be able to get the "mystery guest" if you don't pre-order, you'll just have to pay a few $s for it (as DLC).

KHAAAAAAANNNNN!!!!! Oops, I meant to say: VAUUUUUUGGHHHHHNNNNN!!!!! Grrr, I hate that character, but he really was quite nice as Ser Bryant. I think it means he did a good job as a VA since we seem to universally despise Vaughn, so if Boulton really is voicing male Hawke, then I'm sure he'll do equally well at voicing the male protagonist. I'd like to know who fem. Hawke is though since I'll be adventuring as her - hehe.

As someone who speaks with RP myself, I have to say that I like the accent.

Oh, I know that. And I'm not saying they should change Hawke's voice, like I said three times already, I LIKE HAWKE'S VOICE! I think it shouldn't change, I was just saying that, it isn't how people actually speak in England (and on the BBC too actually).

What would someone "Born in 1968 in Gibraltar, educated in Dublin (Ireland) and Sherborne (England), Nicholas studied acting at the Guildhall School of Music And Drama in London." (IMDB) speak like then?

Well, I do try to lighten things up! And I totally meant "adventuring as her" instead of "adventuring as he though!! *bonk self for the typo*

Clearly the only voice actor suitable for Man Hawke is Gerard Butler.

To me, the problem with Hawke's voice is that it sounds a little too aristocratic to believe that (what we expect to happen, at least) his tale is going to be about a commoner that rises from relative obscurity to become some kind of fabled legend.

NO WAY he is within BioWare's budget. :)

True but then again, Alistair was a commoner and he had a more upper-class sounding accent.

Alistair wasn't really a commoner, though. He was the bastard son of a king and raised by the most influential Arl in Ferelden. I think the greatness of Steve Valentine's performance was that we know (or eventually find out) Alistair is a king in the making, has greatness in his blood; yet simultaneously maintains a sense of modesty and humble beginnings that was most likely very difficult to nail down. It wouldn't surprise me if BioWare went through several voice actors before settling with Valentine.

Hawke isn't just a commoner.  Hawke is the child of an apostate mage and a noble family from Kirkwall, with at least some magical ties in their blood.  S/he may have been raised in Lothering, but with a more elevated education.
