I personally think Lucian is a nice name, but not sure how that rolls of the tongue. Lucian Cousland.

Hmm...I don't know. I have a human noble named Addison, but she's female. I've had a lot of trouble with is in the past too. Sorry I can't be of much help. I would suggest trying out name generators.

I like the default one, but I've used a few old fantasy classics also. Vincent, Dante, Albel, Percival, or Malcolm which is the name of the guy from the DAO trailers.

I named my hn Arthur, since I like the King Arthur character, and it seemed like a nice name for a human templar/champion character.
While naming my other characters and my mabari, I usually take names from movies or other videogames that I like. I had a mage character named Kaidan and a dwarf commoner rogue named Barbos. My mabaris have been named Wrex, Repede, Achilles, among others.
I once played for a while using the default names for my human noble, and a dwarf noble, but I have more of a connection to my characters when I pick a name other than the default. Also, in Awakening, you'll come across an Aidan and Dailan, which may feel odd if your character has the same name.

Lupe - means wolf
Bob - if you want to play a very fun character
Rendon - for evil Cousland wardens
Maker - for your pious Couslands
Alistair or Duncan - for maximum confusion
Leliana - if your warden is confused
Jack - if he's exceptionally butch
Spike - if he is less butch than Jack, but has a sense of humour
Homer - because

Here was my reasoning for my HN character: The male Couslands have Celtic names: Father: Bryce, brother: Fergus. Even the defaut name (Aedan)is Celtic. So I thought that might be family tradition. (Someone posted somewhere that Highever history has parallels with Irish history)
Then I thought the parents might have made the silly decision to give all children the same initial, so I looked for Celtic names starting with F and chose:
Finian.
Which, incidentally, means "handsome" so I made him good-looking and, affecting roleplay, a bit self-centered. (He likes to point out to everybody how he comes from a noble family etc.)
As you can see, there's nothing you can't make more complicated by putting a lot of thought into it.

Making things more complicated? I already spend way too much time just making faces for my characters...

It comes out with a lot of gibberish, but one out of every ten or so is a gem. Mess around with the number of characters you want and be patient with it.
Here's a few I pulled:
Akeriah, Alderad, Aristene, Avarion, Cowisyth, Eirmiren, Inachastia, Kylliame, Leireha, Stelyrian, Tricouroy, Varemin

I think the trick is to limit the length of the generated names.

Noble? Tis the mirrored spelling of my own name, and banned as being a title on some NWN servers.

Old Topic - But throwing it out there anyway following the celtic naming theme for the couslands, named my guy Devlin - celtic meaning fierce, he has two weapons so quite fitting...

Try this nifty little character name generator: Link. I think its designed mainly for WoW, but it will do the job just as well for DA:O.
"Ayilas" looks good, but I couldn't get used to "Iffnatinynrubbro". Or "Hasperski", for that matter.
Tried it, and the first suggestion I got was "Phew"
Phew "the perpetually relieved" Cousland.
