As far as I know we get a male elf companion like we got in DAO, but not a female.  We also get another male dwarf, but no female.  I can live without a dwarven female, but why no elf?  C'mon Bioware, elven love interests are a staple of medieval fantasy tales. (I know we got Valenna in Awakening, but she wasn't a LI, and her personality was not very appealing IMO)  I am mostly asking this because I like a bit of variety in love interests.  I do not find Isabella appealing in the least, and Aveline is a recent widow(?).

Keep in mind I am basing this off of the screenshot of Hawke wth several npcs standing behind him, who I assume are companions.  For all I know there could more companions that have yet to be shown/revealed.

Her eyes must have some significance; the elfs in the concept art did not have glossy black eyes so she must be an important character in some fashion. They wouldn't have made her so unique if she were just a random storyboard character

Sure they would.  The artist responsible could have just been drawing up what he or she thought looked cool.  Considering that art predates the writers' involvement in the story I'm pretty certain it isn't indicative of anything specific beyond "We're going with a dialogue wheel now" and "the art style should be more distinct."

She's not a character. She is "Example of what we would like archery to be like." In a group along with "Two-handed warrior," "Sword and shield warrior," and "Blood mage player guy." They were meant to illustrate ideals for how the classes would work, and how cross-class combos could be done. Why does she have black eyes? *shrug* Why not?
