I'm not sure that anyone of the companins is this will appear in the game. They said that this is the animatic, just sort of a visual look at how they wanted the gameplay.  nt the intent at this point was for Hawke to be some sort of werewolf if I understood correctly.  So again, I don't know that anything in this is going to appear.

I know, but she's done with amazing detail though.... besides the werewolf thing was just a joke Matthew Goldman they didn't actually consider it.

Well, I'm not a fan of the elven redesign in these screens.  Don't have a problem with the punk elements, just the new nose ears eyes etc.  But then MEG didn't look that diffrent than the elves in Origins, so...

I love everything even the ears except for the avatar noses, anyone who saw "Avatar" will know what I'm talking about, these noses also exist on the races concept art they released earlier, but the best part is the eyes, now if they could just do they eyes like this in-game, that'd make my day!

Funny really. If we only got three more companions after the ones we have already seen then those three would be more or less what I'd hope for. A Warden, a female Elf (although I would prefer her to be a warrior), and a Qunari. With that said we are odds on to get at least one more Mage yet, and none of them really fit for that.

In another one of these screenshots from the Developer's Diary video, you can see the dialogue wheel with one of the options: "What do you think, Warden" or something similar.

Oh now that's lovely... so our Warden from Origins FINALLY gets the armor from the trailers... but in DA2 where he/she's an NPC. <_<

I find it quite the opposite; they basically gave her the eyes of Lady of the Forest and having that put on the elves both renders her less unique and makes for rather poor retcon of elf appearance in general.

Incidentally, this means you can give your character such eyes fairly easily with the toolset.

LOL Avalla'ch

the funny part was that the one character wearing the armor from the trailers was Shepard and not the Warden (the mass effect 2 BDA looks almost exactly like that...best looking armor in ME2 btw).

oh well....still that black eyed elfette looks intriguing and the fact she calls you sire is even better.

Lol, also in one of the options you can say "Silence, wench", I wonder what idea did they have in mind regarding that female elf when they created that vid :P

Given that the Warden appears to be female and the other comment is also to the Warden, I assume it's not directed to the elf.

wait Maria....how do you figure the warden is a woman? did I miss something? is it just the posture?

Also the female elf was the one who commented about the darkspawn numbers, assuming the two scenes are consecutive of course.

Yeah, thought the wench comment was one of possible response to the comment made by elf about the darkspawn numbers.

In any case it's pretty pointless to ponder that since the animation was apparently made at the very beginning of planning what DA2 was supposed to "feel" like, before they had this idea there's going to be some Hawke as protagonist etc.

It's pretty ambiguous. The curve of the upper part may be for breasts but it may just as well be gender-neutral plate armour they had in DAO.

In the part of sequence where the warden attacks, the silhouette looks more like male to me.

I was wondering.. Does anyone have a silhouette of the bonus party member DA2, or where I can see it? I wanna see if it might be the same elf.

Hmm... Well the body frame could be describe as female, and their is a bow on her back(what could be described as a bow) Hmm... That may very well be her. But if she's a bonus character odds are she isn't romancable..

Yeah Jack was so hot, cool, and tough. If Tali wasn't an option,  I would have romanced Jack every playthrough.

I too would love a female elf companion and possible LI. However, when it comes to looks, you guies can be a bit harsh on female companions ! Yes, I found the hair a little disturbing at first glance, so what. As far as I'm concerned, something irregular in a real-life otherwise attractive member of the opposite gender is a quasi-immediate turn-on. Nothing like a raised eyebrow, an asymmetrical nose, crazy hair or a back that doesn't quite match the front. Perfection is too easily forgotten, and often a misconception. Come on, Natalie Portman and young Sinead are proof that look is rockable ; add elf ears to that and you can't go wrong. When it comes to more polished elven beauties though, I still can't get over Nesiara dumping my warden ; I wouldn't mind my Hawke consolating her. I assume she'd be pretty bad in combat though Posted Image...

I was going to post here and chastise people for still thinking anything from storyboard made it through to the game actual, but then I realized the writers never explicitly said that.

It's just early storyboard / presentation, anything on there is probably gone into the abyss of the Writer's Pit and changed.

Nothing in it ever came from the writers. It was a high-level "This is the general look and feel we want to go for" concept thing.

So there you go. Maybe the writers liked a character or two they saw in the storyboard and fleshed it out further. *crosses fingers*

I guess the original poster might be slow and not realize that a person's answers are based on what they know. So, good job adding that in case they were confused.

Why the petty, random insult?  I was simply stating my opinion that there should be a female elf companion, and asking if there had been any info/updates on a possible companion of that nature.  There is no reason for you to bash me.

Good day, sir!

I hear Hawke is meeting the Dalish clan from the DE Origin so my vote goes to Merrill, though it may become redundant with Isabela and possibly Anders being back.
