Officially Mass effect 3 with multiplayer?

*Bioware Montreal is working on Mass Effect

And this means Mass effect 3 + multiplayer? What about a spin off?

*some ass from EA claimed a few days ago that single player is dead.

Link? If thats the case and if it were true which obviously is not, wouldn't the entire forums, including myself be up in arms?

Pepper4 wrote...
*this http://xbox360.ign.c.../1139585p1.html and many other sources

and "many other sources" also claimed that its a ME spinoff. That along with the fact that it has yet to be officially announced that its ME3 with multiplayer and that it came from IGN which once "reported" that black ops will have "time travel" only to be discovered that they were talking BS when the game came out.

When it DOES get officially announced that it IS me3 with multiplayer, then ill concede. Because for now, everybody is gasping at thin air running batsh!t with speculation.

"It's not only about multiplayer, it's about being connected. It's one of my core cultural studio values to allow developers to decide more on what they want to build. And a studio's creative call needs to be balanced against a commercial imperative, and if you look at online these days - that's the place to be. I volunteer you to speak to EA's studio heads; they'll tell you the same thing. They're very comfortable moving the discussion towards how we make connected gameplay - be it co-operative or multiplayer or online services - as opposed to fire-and-forget, packaged goods only, single-player, 25-hours-and you're out. I think that model is finished. Online is where the innovation, and the action, is at."

That quote, with my head thinking in relation to ME3, actually made me a little sick to my stomach... I'd rather not any form of MP interfere with ME3, that includes co-op play.

Well, EA is seeing Activision making millions with CoD and WoW, so naturally they want some of that too. Business wise I completely understand this decision.

But it isn't going to work with a tacked on multiplayer portion. The millions who play CoD online aren't going to drop that game because of ME3 multiplayer.

ME2 did not come close to using both discs

Where on earth did you hear that rubbish ?  Mass Effect 2 is roughly 14.74gbs on the xbox 360.  Now it is true that each disc can hold around 7.95gbs however some of that space is used for security and promotional purposes by MS and cannot be used by the developer.  It looks to me that both discs were maxxed out and if they want to shoe horn MP into the game then that means content for the SP will have to be cut to get MP on one of the two discs.

Now sure they could use a third disc for MP but as already discussed this presents cost issues that developers/publishers seem unwilling to confront.  What ever way you cut it, the inclusion of MP into Mass Effect 3 will compromise SP one way or another unless you believe the fairy tales being told around here that everything will be perfectly fine and hunky dory.

In the trailer you can see three silhouttes standing near the fence (btw the perspective seems too close to be a view of Thames), which is conistent with the leaked image. One of the persons is a bit to the left from the other two, which is also conistent with the running woman.

About the interior being based on the Big Ben, here's one extra detail:

Image IPB

If it's so close to the fence it can only mean it collapsed.

I wouldn't be surprised if ME3's multiplayer was DLC. Considering that Bioware knows a ton of people aren't exactly thrilled by the idea of ME multiplayer, I can see them convincing EA that having it be part of the Project $10 component (Cerberus Network Day One DLC) might be a good idea.

If all this is true then I doubt it would be such a small component. If they are officially announcing the entire game alongside multiplayer then they're obviously lauding it as a big feature.
If it was just DLC it would have been like announcing ME2 with a "Check out how awesome our new vehicle, the Hammerhead, is!!"
And that'd be just silly. :wizard:

I have maintained this project was ME3 + multiplayer from the very beginning. It is the only scenario that makes any sense, given the facts.

Its important to remember the EA dude wasn't saying "DERP DERP ALL GAMES NEED DEATHMATCH". He was saying he believes all games need some kind of online connectivity, whether that be literal 'multiplayer' or just social networking and sharing features. Dragon Age II, from memory, has no plans for multiplayer but does have some networking features to show your character and what not. Something like the Cerberus Network is also along this lines.

wow i goto alot of forums but never have i been embarrased to be associated with a certain fan base?

sick to your stomach? really? they havent even announced anything. its like the few non insane people have posted different teams make different parts of the game.

if you hate multiplayer so much, omfg it ruins the game, dont play it.

halo reach came out and it was a week before i played online because i was playing single player. You can still have your 45 hour me3 playthrough but if thats not enough and you dont wanna immediate re beat the game its a good option to have.

take a chill pill, multiplayer doesnt force you to play it and contrary to this forums belief there are other games beside rpg's and no they dont cause cancer

Enough with the stupid first contact war theories. That conflict was a small skirmish not a proper war. Don't give Bioware ideas or they'll retcon the lore.

Also we see the Incisor rifle in the teaser which came out at the time period of ME2. So the new game takes place after ME2, I'm guessing ME3.

Skirmish by turian stanards, but the occupation and liberation of a colony/planet constiutes as a war for me. But yeah, the game probably will be ME3.

This was on the EA website for a few minutes ( they took it off now )
There was a page saying " Mass Effect 3 for X360 , PC and PS3 " , and this is what we could read on the page.

" Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth. "
I guess that makes ME3 official to be annonced at the VGA tonight Image IPB
Can't wait ! Image IPB

Considering the " London's Big Ben " theory here, we already knew it was on Earth, so it was already spoiled here that it was on Earth, that's why I said it, I didn't see any new spoiler in this annoncement by EA ( I only said it because it was officially annonced, I wouldn't said it if EA or Bioware wouldn't said it themselves ) this just confirms officially what many people thought here, that's why I didn't thought this could be considered as a spoiler.
But OK, next time I won't say anything so there will be no confusion. :)

It was two batttles dude. One in space and one on the planet. Thats enough material for one mission not an entire game. Learn the lore.
