It could be Mass Effect 3, where Earth gets either attacked or embroiled in a Civil War (think: Terra Firma style anti-alien elements vs pro-alien factions), or it could be entirely non-mass effect related.
However, look at this:

Note the identical sniper crosshair to the new screen.
Also, we had the obviously-incissor in the first stuff released. It's either mass effect, or they're
shamelessly recycling art assets!

Neh, a person on the ground has white face (try to zoom in on it), A person who help to stand up or what ever, has white hands and the person to the left who runs also has white hands.

can people stop going n about first contact war, its total speculation, and tbh is a stupid idea anyway.
if anything, it will most likely be an expansion to Mass Effect 2, after all, we have been promised story filling content to explain ME3. This makes more sense, as your trying to tell an EPIC CLIMATIC trilogy ending story in a limited time. you create more steps between number 2 and number 3.
so the reapers start chewing up outer colonies, hence all the destruction, remember reapers dont just arrive and everything dies, it takes CENTURYS for the reapers to finish wiping things out. A long protracted war is logical.
people are trying to make these amazing guesses at multiplayer ME, or ME3 or whatever they dream up in 5 mins. and ignore the logical option of DLC bridging the gap between ME2 and ME3 which is exactly what bioware said they would do, and we surely must have 12 more months befor ME3 gets a release date, so thats enough time to have 2 good DLCs of some serious reaper hurt on the galaxy befor finally in ME3 we get to save the world.
lol you are funny
There can be several years between announcement and release, this does not do anything to DLC (if there will be anything). You sound like a very clever person and thus obviously you try to force your opinion on others and call others stupid (not in a plain text), while not knowing anything yourself (or maybe you are BW insider that we didn't know about?). Until the official release, any assumptions and speculations are valid, even if someone will say that this is a game about unicorn war in 19th century. So cut it out please.
Im simply joining the dots on what I have read from Bioware.
They have stated they will make DLC between the two games, to fill the story.
They stated they were happy with the overall game they released in ME2 and have what they need to begin ME3, so years of waiting isnt somthing I personally expect, ME2 is no longer a spring chicken, so some of the waiting is already over.
They are porting ME2 to a new system, and that means a new fanbase, when the entire content of the game is spoiled all over the world wide web, so it makes logical sense to deliver a plot advancing DLC into the mix for everyone, including the new PS3 fanbase to enjoy.
Your right, its all speculation, but i stand by my speculation as making more sense than a random multiplayer FPS, or a new '1st Contact War' game.
As for your thin veil like slights towards me, whatever, ive explained my thought process here for people to digest how they see fit. I didnt call other stupid, I CLEARLY stated i thought the idea ofa first contact was is stupid, does that upset you in some way?

Encarmine, I mainly have similar views to yours on how ME will roll out. But a lack of information and stagnation of this forum is depressing. Thus I am more than happy if people will speculate more, at least I will have something to read while I'm slacking at work (doing it as I type). So don't give them logical explanation of what is coming, because this will put people down and I will be bored to hell at work (need one more week before my current contract expires).
cool, ill happily guess with you about what plot this potential/possible dlc could be, i mean, do you think it could be a side story, like the batarians up to no good, with no real bearing on the main plot, or would bioware be bold enough to introduce reaper plot into DLC, if so, it would make ME3's start an interesting prospect, starting the game 'mid extinction'. Either way, unlike you, im in bed (diff timezone) and the mrs is not pleased with my tap tap tapping on a keybord. Cheerio

Also, the clothing and haircuts of the two women in the pic look pretty ME to me. Typical Chakwas hairdo.
FInally: look at the top spikes of the metal fence right at the bottom of the picture. These seem pretty old-fashioned and elaborate to me. Extremely specific, so Bioware probably crafted them after a real-world fence.
Since a lot of the clues have pointed to London, could any Londoners here in the forum by any chance identify that particular fence and lay all doubts to rest? Might it be a fence at Vauxhall bridge opposite of the MI6 building?

The fence is identical to the fence in front of the courtyard of the Houses of Parliament in London, UK.

Look at the top of the fence. every other one is a multi-spike, while the rest of them are single spikes with strange, siccle looking bits on them.
Check with Google Streetview if you don't believe me.
I'm gonna repeat what I said a couple of days ago in the other thread: I think the sniper is sitting in the ol' clock of Big Ben.

Hmmm small question: there were lots of questions on why three are no children, I might be wrong, but I think bioware dismissed such requests. So why would be a child included in a trailer? This creates a small problem if it will not be included in the game.

The guy on the left is a well...guy.
He doesn't have boobs.
