I've tried changing rendering parameters, I've tried number and type of lights, I've tried everything I can think of to get rid of these. Until noe, it had only occurred in large, memory-intensive levels, so I thought that might be it, but now I have the same thing in a tiny, easily rendered room. Does anyone know what causes this and how to get rid of it? It's driving me nuts.

that is because eclipseray can't handle models with uv map disstortions. look for the name of the model within the toolset and try these fixes if it's among them.
