He got a miniscule role in the Dr. Michel Quest, still unexplained. He was found by some marines who were shortly devoured by thresher maws. Is anyone else curious about him?

Ever since the second ME book was released I have believed Banes is TIM.

I sure as hell am. He had a really interesting story, i'd like it to be revisited in ME3.

Nah, this same basic topic has been kicking around for about 3 years now. I pretty convinced that the whole Banes story line is just another way to get people to talk to Kahoku.

No, he is not.

TIM had been TIM for 20 before Banes skipped out.

Banes is a Cerberus operative in charge of rackets and cover-ups.

I know why people are having trouble with this but its actuall easy to figure out about Armistan Banes "mystery".

Cerberus (or part of cerberus) could be helping Saren in his mission.

Banes is found dead. Adm Kohaku tells you that cerberus killed his team...His team found banes body on a derelict ship or somthing. Now this supposed "Banes" guy is black mailing the doctor. The doctor is also the one that helps the quarian (Tali who has evidance against Saren) get in contact with a broker. This broker (Fist) just so happends to be working for Saren for some reason....hint hint. It would seem like Saren acted alone but in this case cerberus is trying to kill the ones who reported that banes is dead and also trying to stop Adm Kohaku from pining it on Cerberus. Cerberus then kills Adm Kohaku because he is trying to investigate the matter.

Simply put it's a plot point that was dropped.

Okay, but that still doesn't answer why Banes was killed or who killed him.
Maybe Cerebus killed him because he was going to reveal to the Alliance that Cerebus was ''going completely rogue'' like Kohaku said or knew about their involvment in the rachni experiments or husks experiments, etc...

It was cerberus that killed him.
