Its almost like cheating...

Can you import a ME1 Shep to a new ME1 game? I didn't see that option. I started a new game an since the Specter gear is still unlocked I just played the stock market with my money until I had enough to buy Specter Weapons, and it was still the begining of the game. But finding the parts is alot harder to do.

Anyway, I didn't see an import option in ME1???

Can that be done on 360? How does that work with different characters, and I mean Shepards, Soldier, Infiltrator? and with Replay?

Yeah man, I don't know the exact details but if you look in the "Modding is possible III" thread you should be able to find it pretty easily. Especially if you ask for it. The process is a bit complex initially, but it pays off and is quick to repeat once you get the steps down.

And it affects all your characters, regardless of skills, classes whatever.

Thanks :D

Holly crap I totally missed it! The hole time I was thinking, "I can't believe there's no reward for winning!" Anyway, what do you get to keep on import??? All your old guns and upgrades? Because that would be perfect!

I wish you could change classes with an import. Just to see what it is like to be a full powered (insert class here) for example.

I guess they want you to play through at least once with each class from the begining. I think that's a good idea though, second playthrough should be whatever you want it to be period.

Dude! I went back and did it, that **** was insane! Started all over but with maxed out stats across the board! The only thing that got "reset" besides the plot was the Renegad/Paragon points, but even that doesn't matter because in ME the Renegade/Pargon convo options are based on your Charm/Intimidate stats! So I'll be able to say whatever I want to whoever I want right from the begining! This is so awesome, I may never play ME2 again!

ME2 had way better graphics, AND better loading times, AND smoother loading, no glitches or very few you know like when in older games graphics load up blury at first then sharpen after a second. Appearently my CPU really liked ME2 so all the stuff got even buggier now that I've gone back to ME for the first time. But the "you beat the game bonus" is still so much better it's mind blowing!

God! I was always thinking since I beat ME2 imported a character to a new ME2 and got the bonus, "Man, this bonus sucks!" You keep all your unlocked weapons, and all your character stats, but all the weapon damage upgrades and armor upgrades and convo options reset. So it that lame bonus ends up not affecting the game play at all! It's a non bonus bonus! There's no difference between importing and getting it, and just starting over from scratch!!!

But in ME1 you KEEP EVERYTHING you gained on first play through and it's awesome! Just finished the first mission with imported character TOTALLY TROUNCED all the bad guys, the didn't even halfway stand a chance! plus ALL CONVO OPTIONS UNLOCKED! For the first time ever in any ME I can say WHATEVER I WANT! It used to be so anoying to see those grayed out options and know there's now way you'll be able to ever say it unless you start the whole game over and somehow get more points by time this part comes around! Never again!

My God! When BioWare got the import bonus SO RIGHT in ME how did they ever **** it up so bad in ME2 to where it's not really a bonus at all???

I dont care. The codex explains the situation and the ME2 weapon system is 10x better than ME1's hide till my gun stops frying weapon system.

Btw Didn't have frictionless parts or any heat upgrades on my old gun, and didn't have a single overheating issue the entire time. If you can't shoot a gun without overheating constantly in ME it's not the guns fault, it's because you suck at shooting it!

But for the record Thermal Clips in ME3 should exist but actually BE thermal clips this time. Unlimited ammo and just switch clips when you **** up and overheat so no more waiting for cooldown AND no more limited ammo...

I was fine with Mass Effect's overheating system until I can fire an assault rifle like an LMG. Doesn't work that way. @_@

I just played and mine ripped off at least 80 shots before overheating, probably closer to 100! But if you burst it at 50 or 60 shots you can fire it continuosly with only minor second or two pauses... INDEFINENTLY that's WAY better suppresive fire than 80 shots at a time with 1 second reload pauses and you only get 5 clips.

And that is how you're supposed to fire MG's by the way, in bursts.

This isn't at you Wolf but again. I'm not agruing that the new system doesn't work as well as the old, or that it's more or less fun, as much as I'm arguing that it just doesn't make sense in the context of ME and was intentionally described in a missleading way by the Codex / Booklet. And if you can't even conced that while still maintaining that you like the new system beter, well you're just ignoring facts.

Not to mention the fact that you can mod your guns in ME so that they don't overheat at all, ever.

No offense taken. Actually, that's what I was talking about. I discovered frictionless materials for the first time and put in my assault rifle I was like OMGWTFAWESOME!

So at that point I had infinite ammo suppressing power. I'm sure that works but it's just.........just rips at a part of my soul. XD

Hahahahaha! Awesome isn't it!?
Yeah they def need to bring back customizability in ME3 but also KEEP the variety of weapons from ME2.
Consider this for the LMG instead of having increased ammo capacity (since it's supposed to be almost unlimited for everything anyway) it can have advanced heat venting capacity. So it's way harder to overheat than the other guns ie: takes 200 rounds nonstop to over heat vs you know like 100 for regular AR. But even when you do overheat you can switch clips for instant cooldown so not a big deal anyway. Then you can customize it, you could either further enhance its LMG traits with parts like high capacity heat sinks / frictionless parts so it gets EVEN HARDER / IMPOSSIBLE to overheat. Or you can leave it's LMGness standard which should be good enough and enhance / create traits in it that didn't come standard, or weren't very good, like Kinetic Stabilizer and Imporved Sighting so it still has it's standard LMG traits but now it's ALSO just as accurate as say a Battle Riffle. So it can become either super high firepower LMG, or super accurate LMG but all while remaining true to it's base model of LMG. And of course you could go anywhere within a specturm between those two extremes!
Then on the opposite end of that spectrum you can take your battle riffle which is designed for accuracy and has lower heat capacity, way easier to overheat maybe 50 or 60 shots non-stop to overheat. But again REAL thermal clips means no waiting, AND no ammo. And customize that, either stick to it's strenghts making it even more accurate / powerful till it's say as accurate/powerful as say a sniper, but as fast as a battle riffle and with it's standard heat capacity. Or you can bring out strengths it wouldn't normally have by increasing it's heat capacity till its as high as say, a standard LMG while reataining it's standard accuracy. So it can become eithe a super high firepower Battle Riffle, or a super high accuracy Battle Riffle but all while staying true to it's base model of Battle Riffle! And of course you could go anywhere within a specturm between those two extremes!
So basically the idea is REAL thermal clips with NO AMMO, plus the variety of ME2 weapons, PLUS the customizability of ME weapons = in ME3 any weapon could have equal potential to become a super weapon in both it's own unique way due to base model and YOUR own unique way based on chosen parts!
A full arsenal of super guns! I'd say it would take at least that to bring down the Reapers. By the way, love how you combined all those acronyms and awesome into one uber word hahaha!

Wow I forgot how awseome the ME customization is. Specter Weapons + High Explosive Rounds IX + Frictionless Parts VIII+ Scram Rail VIII = Shoulder fired Mako Cannons! Overheats like a motherF***er, but drops anything on the battlefield in a second! Alternatively Snow Blind Rounds VIII + Frictionless Parts VIII + Whatever you want = Indefinite automatic fire, with no overheating ever! And still kills pretty good too!

If you haven't played ME in a few months give it another shot! After getting used to ME2 it will blow your mind all over again!

SnowBlind Rounds X + Rail Extensions VIII + Rail Extensions VIII is probaby the best combo. And yeah, going back to ME1 after a while will blow your mind simply because the gameplay is that much better in ME2.

In some ways it was, in some ways, it was not.

Being shot in the back by your squadmates at least twice in every combat mission got old.

Well from ME to ME2, Shield Boost and First Aid became automatic.
Wait behind cover and you're good to go.

So how about automating spare "ammo" in the same way? That way it is an evolution of eject-able thermal clips, lets you fire without having to go pick up more and fits with game lore (the device that makes more thermal clips would be the omnitool from omnigel).

And no sabotage and no overheat bug to carry over to ME3.

Then mod-able guns as a bonus (although ammo powers seem to be the simplified gun mods in ME2) in ME3.
