No issues. As long as nothing i sacrificed from the single player for the MP.
**** EA and their "every game must have online component".

The only "strictly" single-player game that had MP and still offered a beyond-awesome singe player experience I can think of is Red Dead Redemption. Other than that, I'm not so sure...
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood did it pretty well, just like the Splinter Cell games. So, it is possible.

I think it goes without saying that people's opinions are kinda divided. Okay, I get the idea and understand why some people do like MP, but for me, ME (both of 'em) has been such an emotional and personal experience that doesn't compare to anything I've played before and only because it's single player. I don't think MP is going to do anything emotion-wise.

If the MP is separate from the SP, as it is about 100% of time, there ain't even canon issues etc. If you don't like it, don't play MP.
If you don't bother even buying the game just because it has MP... moron.

Anyway, that's true, and it's our main concern here. ME3 is totally not the game for MP.

As for team versus, I'd love to zip around the map as a Vanguard and shotty people in the face or throw people off ledges. So much more satisfying than doing the same to AI.

How does having MP mess with the story? /facepalm.Matchy Pointy wrote...
I hope it isn't true, I don't want multiplayer in my singleplayer games, and I don't want anyone to mess with the story of my Shepard.
If resources are sacrificed for the MP, maybe then BUT i doubt BW would make that mistake. If they did, that'd be simply... stupid and unprofessinal (?).
Frankly i'm more worried about how good is this hypothetical multiplayer than its effects to the story and single player gameplay... How is it done? Is it simply COD/Halo but from third person? SP mechanics in MP?

If I want to shoot people online, BioWare, I will play CoD, or Halo. I play Mass Effect for the story.

I hope it's not true, but given the recent comments by the EA brass, I'm going to to wager my chips on the inclusion of multiplayer.
I think when you look at New Vegas shifting 5million units since release, the "u need multyplayerz dawg" argument loses more ground than than the French in WWII. There is still a huge demand for top-quality single player experiences.

Multiplayer in itself does not have to affect the story or singleplayer game, but I have a hard tie seeing the main buld from the games so far work in multiplayer, going to talk with people and see who talks with the most first? sure, they might do a pure action multiplayer part, but that takes everything fun away from it. And adding multiplayer does take resources, even though it's probably resourced added to the game to do multiplayer. Everyone is free to their opinion though, and mine is that I don't want multiplayer in my singleplayer RPGs (and most of all no coop in the main game).

I hope it's true.
What do you think a multiplayer part should look like?
I think a good idea is that you can play coop with friends (the AI comrades).

I'm not totally against MP in games, but usually I don't go for it. So, as long as this MP is independent of the SP, and, the SP doesn't suffer from it: I'll be fine.
I'm normally against the "Community" that follows big-name MP games. Don't get me wrong, not all of those people all like "that"--hell, MOST of them aren't--but the homophobic, racist, foul-mouthed, immature, and tasteless people that ARE in that community, ruin the image of everyone else.
Just play a match of COD: you'll know what I mean in about five seconds. Those dudes are so loquaciously stupid they think the word "loquacious" is a surfer term.
