Bioware never ceases to amaze me with their amazing games and bountiful support. No other developer I've seen would announce toolset patches. Keep up the good work!

I realize that this is off-topic, but the question isn't getting any love from the community or the devs. Hopefully all issues will be resolved with the coming of the toolset patch, but chances are they won't - and I'm getting impatient.

I get the "can't connect to database" error when trying to run the toolset, and by database folder is empty. The toolset wiki says to run a command to try and restore the database manually, but I'm utterly clueless as to where to execute this command. The only thing I could think of was the command prompt, but that was a no go.

Here's hoping this cry for help will inspire some empathy for a dude in need, rather than spark a flaming war on my ignorance :)

What if u have downloaded the additional content (Golem, Soldiers Peak) How will the toolset react to that as opposed to the people without the additional content, will it mess single player up for those with it, or those without it? just curious on that note how its going to work.

Sorry guys, these questions are better left for other topics. This topic is only about the Toolset patch info. Try creating topics or browsing the forum posts, because i'm sure both of your questions have already been answered.

Thanks for keeping in touch :D I'm eagerly awaiting the patch that deals with the funky lightmapper issues.

Instead of preventing this from running on SP2, you could also just include "SQL Server Express 2005 with Advanced Services" instead???  Thats what I am currently running on SP2 and it runs the toolset flawlessly.

It's not being prevented, it just gives a big scary warning.

how about win xp 64 bit ? It does not have SP3 -- and will never have. Do I have to upgrade to Win 7 to be able to run toolset on 64 bit system ?

Still unable to run this... Toolset still can't find its own database. Will the patched version actually be able to find its own database? Or will I need to pay for a tutor in SQL? *rolleyes*

I am sure this problem has directly nothing to do with SQL. It is all just about accessing the folder.

If you use XP... Try to open the properties of the Dragon Age folder in the protected mode. In the register security (it is maybe called different, my English is not that good)  should be something like a list of users who can access this folder. If I remember right there should be an advanced button blow. In the advanced window you should be able to add new users to this list. Add the users with sql in their name and give them full access.

Reinstall toolset and server after that in the normal mode and it should work.

i solved my "can't connect to database" issue trough the wiki. The one were you manually setting up SQL Server outside of the toolset installer.. etc. Worked just fine.

No - not working. The wiki entry contains directions that assume you're already conversant in IT. I don't even have a Security Tab on the folders on my XP SP3 machine. Arggh! I've wasted enough time with this pos software.

This tap is just there if you are in the protected mode.

Not sure if this helps, but I was able to get this working by uninstalling the Toolset and selecting the option to uninstall the database and SQL along with it (was one of the 3 options with the Toolset uninstaller). Then reinstall the Toolset and SQL and Voila -- it worked just fine.

Maybe I was just lucky.

I run WINXP x64 SP2, and as far as the occasional crashes go (as with any other piece of software), the ToolSet is working fine for me. Simply installed as Administrator and off it goes, no problems at all.

i have win 7 64 bit, is there any way i can get this to run?

*edit

nevermind, i got past the "unable to connect to database" error by using:
http://social.biowar...troubleshooting
and
http://social.biowar...se_installation

i
just changed .\\\\\\\\BWDATOOLSET to username\\SQLEXPRESS in the toolset
config. I am using windows 7 x64 just so you know, and the command line
thing was useless.

Can u consider to add on the list one standalone processing script for the resource which must be imported to the database? something like the one which the toolset pull for translate the things inside the "resourcepostintermediatewin32"  <_<
Thanks -_-

I thought for sure there would be another update by now. Did someone get in trouble for communicating with the customers so honestly? I thought it might have been too good to be true. Oh, well. I'm sure you are all still hard at work fixing things behind the scenes.

Probably not happening until they release Return to Ostagar. (mid-December to late-December)
