Would be good to get an update. Wanna start crankin' on that module, but would like to deal with all the technical issues first.

With the new version, we also have the full single player database included, so you will be able to easily modify game content directly. Along with that we will also be the source files for the levels (seperate download), so you will be able to modify levels directly and export them for use in the game or for your own content.

Ah, thanks! I wasn't expecting this so soon, so I just want you to know that you've made me very happy. :D

Yeah, it would be good to get a new version. There are so many bugs and problems in the toolset and I have no idea of what issues they are already aware of. There isn't much point in reporting any problem right now. New version would allow to reset and restart looking the point where do we stand with the Toolset.

That information is deeper I expected. One greater concern of mine was the toolset being both incredibly porweful and incredibly restrictive.

Besides, it claims for enforcing some way to reserve ranges for projects... for example 2DA indexes. I know it is already being done at wiki but without something as a comitee or authorized group it's something that can be abused and the real role lost. Still it may work as it is now, of course,  a modder should be able to know his/her mod need 50 entries and there is no point reserving 500 in that case... Anyway I hope the process will adjust itself in time.

Thanks to all Bioware team. You proved caring your game's users before and show it is the same now.

Well I see mid-week has been and gone and still no news on the TS update. I'm currently beta testing a mod and am fully aware that the update will most likely kill my mods. So im just meandering along with this one testing and testing. The thing is its at a stage where its almost ready for release and would like to. But what is the point now when I am going to have to redo alot of the work. the scripts should be fine so im not concerned about them at all. C'mon Bioware Dec 11 update PLEASEEEEEEEEE!

You should begin exporting your work ASAP, that database change will kill it indeed if the backup is not done. Other than having to re-import every custom source you have now, the chance the alterations turning your mod lost is minimal. I'm using a preview of the new database without any custom content issue.

from first page
"December 4 Update:
New toolset is definitely getting closer to
release.  I am doing currently doing regression testing on all of the
editors while using the the latest version of the game patch that is
wending its way through approvals. I expect that we will be able to
release the new toolset some time next week."

So.. as its already thursday... hopefully today/tomorrow... (fingers crossed!)

I'd like to see it too, but please, nobody start complaining if it's not out this week. He certainly didn't have to say what he did. A lot of companies now have taken the stance of, it's done when it's done due to outcry's and complaints when a pseudo deadline isn't met. Even if it's not released this week, atleast we know it's close.

Yeah, it's sad developers can't be more open about their progress. I used to think it was just over-defensiveness to keep information from competition, but I think it's more because people freak out if something's misreported about a release date or a new feature or whatever. It's not a huge deal either way, but it's nice that they're sharing something.

this week or the next one... it doesn't matter that much. if the toolset's quality depends on time, then i think we should let them work. in fact i think they better would have never released it in this state.

[font color:rgb(0, 255, 0)]I think you are being sarcastic here, but for those who really want to rush it- look back at all the products to be released unfinished so they could hit a deadline.  Think about how annoying it was dealing with them until they fixed it.  How about all those products (::cough::WoW::cough::)  that get patch after patch after patch to fix problems caused by pushing the patches out too soon without proper testing?  I for one say get it out as soon as possible, but make sure it's working right first.  I can be patient for a better product.
