The little update speech bubble won't go away. If I click the red cross, it'll go but appear the next time I go to another page of the website. I've clicked to find out what it's about, I've viewed the update but it still won't go away.

It's even staying up after I've switched browsers!

Yep, the only way I could get rid of mine was to delete and remake my account.  Which was easy for me because, I have no friends *Sniff, Sniff*:crying:

I've been having this issue for the last two days.

I had someone try to friend me (someone who has tried 3 times now and each time I have rejected because I don't know who they are) and I finally just blocked them altogether (forgetting to reject the friend invite first). Ever since then, it keeps saying I have one friend request but every time I click the little bubble's link, it says I have no pending friend requests. The bubble only shows up when I am reading threads (not when I am just browing the forums or looking at my home page).

It is a bit annoying because I keep thinking someone has commented on my blog or someone is actually trying to send me a friend request but I am starting to ignore the silly bubble altogether and will likely miss any genuine updates because of it.

Refreshing and changing browsers has done nothing to make it go away. I may try purging cookies soon and see if that does anything.

I think I've found a workaround. Click "X New Update(s)" as you would, and click the cross to the left of the update you want to remove; For you, Leonia, that would be the "1 new friend request" (As an example).

I did that and it seems to have solved the appearance of the persistent update, but it (Obviously) won't solve the problem.

Huh, I'll have to try that.

If you're lucky that will work. Most likely you are stuck with it, however. This has been the most reliable method and it is very unreliable. Don't bother with cookies, it's server-side.

Looks like I'm stuck with it then. I guess it could be worse..
