But I'm sure they are all in agreeance that Earth needs to be toppled first. So, majority will go there.

I've noticed that, but there'll be time for DLC between ME2 and ME3...this isn't a release, just an announcement. And there was a huge gap in DLC before LoTSBAtreiNero wrote...
Well what's going to happen to all of that DLC BioWare promised? We haven't had anything since LotSB and frankly it is starting to look like the well is running dry. Still this is interesting and I can't wait until tomorrow to see what is really going to happen.
Still I think that since ME3 will probably be announced. tomorrow, someone at EA messed up big time and posted something they shouldn't have.
Still more DLC for ME2 BioWare. Please.
Also surprised no devs have commented yet. Usually by now, someone does, even if it just a, "wait until tomorrow" or "we can't say anything until tomorrow" bit.

To be fair, they did the same thing with DA2, and they'll likely not be giving the game as big an overhaul as the changes from ME1 to ME2. This doesn't really surprise me. They probably already had all of their ducks in a row, as it is.slimgrin wrote...
Still, ME2 came out earlier this year and the sequel is ready to start advertising? Unbelievably fast.

I'm pretty sure I didn't mention any articles, I was referring to this forum. Spoilers in article titles are a different matter entirely.DukeOfNukes wrote...
1) It's not up to each individual when articles on the front of gaming pages say "Earth Under attack in ME3" and "Mass Effect 2: Garrus RETURNS!!!". The only choice the individual has in the matter is to cut themselves off entirely from all their gaming information.ifander wrote...
As Chris Priestly has said before, they have to spoil something, otherwise they couldn't possibly make a decent marketing campaign. It's a difficult balance, but in the end it's up to each individual to decide if they want to risk getting spoiled by reading a thread which clearly states it contains spoilers...
Without any of the marketing for ME2, the game would have attracted far less new players, new being the key here. Lost was successful because it had a very strong fanbase by the sixth season. But Bioware wants to increase their fanbase, and you can't do that without some serious marketing.2) No, you don't have to spoil anything...period. There are plenty of successful movies/games/etc that spoil very little, and still go on to garner an extremely large audience. For example: The 6th season of LOST. Not a single trailer before the season even used footage of the new season...they showed clips from previous seasons, and still had an amazing season. Terminator 2, they were perfectly happy to let people think that Arnold was still going to be the bad guy...they showed footage of the two fighting, but nothing to indicate that he was the good guy this time around.

Earth? meh
As long as all of the game doesn't take place on Earth, I like the idea. It seems fitting, if a bit cliche.
Lots of players have been asking to see Earth.

? It's the incisior, half the debate about the gun is about the fact it is a "mass effect gun"...clone wars wrote...

They've been working on ME3 since before ME2 was released, and it's been almost 12 months since ME2 came out. Plenty of time.

I can picture a kind of Wolf 359 moment, where the Normandy receives word from Hackett that Arcturus station is under attack and when the Normandy arrives they'll find the Alliance fleet in bits and pieces, so they board the Husk of the SSV Orizaba where they find the dying Admiral Hackett/Captain Shepard who tells Cmdr. Shepard that the Reapers broke through and headed for Earth.
Also, I don't think that all Reapers will go for the same target, they could easily attack Earth, Palaven, Thessia, Sur'Kesh and the Citadel at the same time. But what we heard so far is a promotional blurb directed to all gamers, not just the fans of Mass Effect. And to someone not attached to the franchise it sounds more urgent if Earth is under attack than if they were talking about "the centre of galactic government" or the "Council homeworlds". Earth sounds more urgent and personal, but that doesn't mean the Reapers aren't heading for the Citadel as well.
I'd love to Admiral Hakett at long last. I'm assuming Captain Shepard is the Spacer Shep's mom?
Eh, I'm totally down for seeing the other council homeworlds. A bit cliche, but it'd be quite the visual spectacle no? Also, female turians.

I wonder if there have been any significant changes to the engine.
I remember Casey Hudson saying they won't make too many tweaks to the engine, that it's already where they like it, and not much is needed to add to it. So he said that significantly cuts down on development time too.
