I can picture a kind of Wolf 359 moment, where the Normandy receives word from Hackett that Arcturus station is under attack and when the Normandy arrives they'll find the Alliance fleet in bits and pieces, so they board the Husk of the SSV Orizaba where they find the dying Admiral Hackett/Captain Shepard who tells Cmdr. Shepard that the Reapers broke through and headed for Earth.
Also, I don't think that all Reapers will go for the same target, they could easily attack Earth, Palaven, Thessia, Sur'Kesh and the Citadel at the same time. But what we heard so far is a promotional blurb directed to all gamers, not just the fans of Mass Effect. And to someone not attached to the franchise it sounds more urgent if Earth is under attack than if they were talking about "the centre of galactic government" or the "Council homeworlds". Earth sounds more urgent and personal, but that doesn't mean the Reapers aren't heading for the Citadel as well.
I'd love to Admiral Hakett at long last. I'm assuming Captain Shepard is the Spacer Shep's mom?

I've noticed that, but there'll be time for DLC between ME2 and ME3...this isn't a release, just an announcement. And there was a huge gap in DLC before LoTSBAtreiNero wrote...
Well what's going to happen to all of that DLC BioWare promised? We haven't had anything since LotSB and frankly it is starting to look like the well is running dry. Still this is interesting and I can't wait until tomorrow to see what is really going to happen.
Still I think that since ME3 will probably be announced. tomorrow, someone at EA messed up big time and posted something they shouldn't have.
Still more DLC for ME2 BioWare. Please.
Also surprised no devs have commented yet. Usually by now, someone does, even if it just a, "wait until tomorrow" or "we can't say anything until tomorrow" bit.
Good Point. I had to check the ME wiki but between Firepower and LotSB was just over a month. But between Overlord and LotSB was just under four months. However again we had packs inbetween Overlord and LotSB. We haven't seen anything recently and that's a little troubling. Nothing in over 3 months. We need something.
And I'm still surprised that no devs have commented yet.

I wonder if there have been any significant changes to the engine.
I remember Casey Hudson saying they won't make too many tweaks to the engine, that it's already where they like it, and not much is needed to add to it. So he said that significantly cuts down on development time too.
Well then they should focus on story and rpg elements now instead of the half baked stuff they settled for in ME2. We know they can do better. That's the problem with them making great games in the past. If you half ass sh*t, people are gonna notice, dudes.
I still want my dlc.

Dear gawd I'm so excited. So very goshdarn excited.
EA store, I love your incompetence so. SO. SO MUCH right now. Please keep up the great work!
And tomorrow, when it becomes official, I'm gonna release all my joy to the world and be so excited I die with a blast, taking the half of Europe's population down with me.
Did I mention excitement?

The funny thing is, humanity isn't very diverse genetically. We're reeeally homogenous (due to a population bottleneck circa 75000 years ago, or something like that)... Seems pretty absurd that the other races would be even worse than us!
I am in awe of your knowledge of the genetic structure of fictional alien species.
What's with the sarcasm? Mordin said that humanity is more genetically diverse than [most of] the other races - or did I not hear him right?

I wouldnt be suprised sadly, There alot of cheap ways they can "kill" off squad members from previous games for everyone now. Since they all could diein ME2.

I'll believe it when I see it. Slapping that god awful term "emotionally engaging" on a product doesn't automatically make it so. I try to take Christina at her word though.

I hope Bioware's better than that. Even if this is indeed ME3 they're announcing tomorrow, they still have a year to grind away. Therefore, plenty of time to get their sh*t in order.annihilator27 wrote...

I know, I know, but it depends on how they handle it. Hopefully better than ME2, plot wise.
So far, both games have been set away from earth, which makes coming home seem compelling. Something about fighting next to Big Ben...I just like it.
