Shepard IS special because the Prothean gene is hidden within him! Guarantee...there will be some type of launch code/receptor thing on Earth, hidden away somewhere...and only YOU, SHEPARD, can unlock them. Now, what do you do? Do you use it to destroy the Relays? Do you aim it at Reapers, at planets......do you destroy everything, ending the cycle? Or....if all the Reapers are in teh Sol system, maybe you trap them there, hoping you bide more time for the other races....either way...something big regarding Shepards decision is about to happen ON Earth!

The reason why that would be lame is that it would completely contradict ME2, where EDI points out that the Collector DNA only matches the Prothean DNA. If Humans or even just Shepard shared genetic strings with the Protheans, it would have been noted by now, since apparently EDI does have Prothean DNA as a comparison group.

Right but....be that as it may...he may still have some sort of dormant secret gene within him that could activate a weapon....think about it what do YOU think the last decision will be? Because honestly, it's gonna be about the fate of the galaxy....so it makes sense.

yeah i remember reading that, it seems realistic to me, European Union, North American States, African union,  if we relised tomorow that there was a galactic community, I think that would be the only thing that would unite our planet under a single world goverment, army etc, as we head off into the stars to issue some serious hurt.

Being in a multinational army would be so cool, Canadians, Americans, British, Australians, Germans, that would own

 I think that the fact that EA says that "Earth is under attack" doesn't mean "only Earth is under attack",but that they focused on Earth because:

a' Shepard is human,so Earth matters more to him than e.g. Virmire.
b' EA wants to wake up your patriotic feeling,creating feelings to you to keep you hyped.


It's reasonable for the game to be more focused on the tragic event that happens to humans since the protagonist is human.That doesn't mean there aren't tragic events happening to other planets/races. EA assumes that you are a human playing the role of a human,so logically they assume you would care more about humans.

NATO is an international organization comprising national armies, it's not exactly what he meant. I think he rather meant something alike the European BattleGroups (CSDP).

It would make sense. I mean the teaser shows a Incisor sniper, Kinetic plated armor and a setting that looks like London's SIS HQ. If earth gets attacked I don't see how its that hard to Imagine defending SIS during a part of the game.

Well im going to take a wild guess, Earth is getting pwned hard, Sheperd will have to use his contacts in other races to get them to rescue the Sol System, imagine, Wrex and grunt turning up with some mental krogan army, salarian STG, the Rachnii rolling in, ETC ETC the more positive contacts you have made in ME1-ME2 make the cutscene even longer and more epic than anything i will have seen in a video game thus far.Probly causing the hairs on my neck to stand up

Idk. Saving the whole Galaxy and the whole galactiс community is much cooler to me than focusing just on Earth and humanity.

Earth had been saved in so many stories already.
