I hope we get a really good explanation for the human reaper. Was it supposed to fly or something? It felt more like a giant robot and I really don't see the practicallity of it. Maybe a small Terminator could do some damage, but an oversized one? Feels worthless to be honest, way too big to move easily. And why not stay with normal Reapers? They seem far more effective and easy to move around. Next: Turian Reaper.

From what can be gathered from me2, this human-reaper was NOT complete it was a very early stage like an embryo.  Once completed its encased in the reaper shell (cuttlefish shape). It will probably explain why each reaper looks slightly different.

So I guess killing off the old Council and pissing off all the aliens wasn't too smart then?

I mean, if humans get shat on in ME3 regardless, doesn't this completely invalidate all renegade pro-human choices?

Wrong! Although you might ****** off every other non human lifeform the Renegade decisions have made humanity stronger. By killing off the council humanity has a 2nd form of Government to keep the species intact.

In my opinion the only reason for the whole terminator reaper was because the reapers decided humans won the prize of being "reaperized" after Saren's failure and Shepard's success.

Why they made it look like a terminator with three eyes? I don't know, because the reapers are stupid.

I hope that's not the real reson. What I fear, is that we won't know what the human reaper was meant for beyond posing as an end boss for the suicide mission.

So what do you think the announcement will be? A passing mention... or perhaps a trailer?

Probably a 1-2 minute teaser trailer, no gameplay.  Just enough to get fans excitied, but also irritated at the same time because they have to wait another 6 months for gameplay vids.Image IPB

I guess... They also said reapers were different according to the species they gather, but I wouldn't translate this into the "slighty" different thing. Still, I guess we'll have to wait and see. I mostly feel that way because ME2 raised more questions than it answered instead of keeping a sense of mystery, as for several questions like the human Reaper, the question is more about the relevance and why it looks absurd rather than raising something compelling to look for. I leaves me a bad impression.

People complained that they didn't see Earth in the first two games, now they are complaining that Earth is going to be a level in the third game.

Bioware fans are the most demanding, but also the most hypocritical fans in the world.

Or... like an embryo, it actually grows into a bigger, more mature version of its current form. They weren't bolting parts on the thing like it was a car, they were injecting material into it. If you have nanomachines that work like our osteoplasts and osteoclasts, then metal can grow like bone.

Why the F\\/CK they have to put spoilers everywhere??? Damn... I might be a small spoiler for you, but for me it's huge since I had absolutely no idea how ME3 would start and I liked it that way. Minor spoiler my ass...

Maybe those are not the same people. The fanbase is quite big you know. Personally, I'd rather not see Earth. It's impossible for them to truly give justice to it while maintaining ME's universe sense of wonder. Seeing Earth would just feel less... sci-fi, alien, I don't know.

How? One of the biggest inspirations of Mass effect was Blade runner, and that was set on Earth.

bets on this guy being a new squad mate... anyone?

I don't like him. He's boring and his romance is more like a bootycall than it is a tender emotional connection.

I can't believe they gave us this guy instead of bringing back  **insert random squadmate's name here**,  what bull!!!

We need to have more ethnic human squadmates... I don't want a bland white guy as a squad mate, we already have Jesus as the main character... why can't  we have a Mexican, or Italian, or Indian squaddie...and just because they're a particular race doesn't mean they need to have a heavy accent (cough*Samesh Bhattia*cough)... stop being simple minded BW!

Or they could add a Chilean squad member

Oh for christ sake, it's a description of the game by EA itself, it's most likely going to be used on the box and descriptions in stores (online). You would be spoiled by this either way. Besides, if you don't want to be spoiled I suggest you stop reading anything that has ME3 in it's title... <_<

ME was always a trilogy, But not the last game in the series. So are you actually talking about ME4 or what comes next?

I don't see much Blade Runner inspiration besides music. Mass Effect is a space opera, something Blade Runner is quite far from. Plus, Blade Runner took place exclusively on Earth, so the whole thing was about Earth. Mass Effect is more about creating a "possible" inter-galactic future, I think it would be very hard for them to create a believable futuristic Earth inside the... "original" universe they created. I mean, do you make Earth very sleek looking and futuristic, or more outdated kind of futuristic? How well is it implemented with the looks of the overall universe?

Though I found the flying car bit on Ilium (when getting Thane) a lot Blade Runner-y. But otherwise I can't think of anything similar, the mood and scope is very different.

It''s really not that bad. Relax. You don't know any details, and to be honest it was bound to happen anyway. Listen to what your squadmates say during the collector ship mission.

I don't get this sentiment.  This is the future.  A lot of the characters no longer identify themselves with a race.  Most are heavy mixes.  Just read the first few chapters of ME: Revelation listen to Grissom and Anderson's inner dialogue along with the names of Anderson's squad.

What race is Kaiden Alenko?  What race is Ashley Williams?  What about Gabby Daniels?  She is at least part Latina.  We know that Anderson is part-"a bunch of things".  Why does race have to be an issue?  For the love of everything holy, Miranda doesn't even have a race, she was made in a lab.

We've had 7 human squadmates so far.  2 of indeterminate Caucasian race, 1 of seemingly mixed ancestory, 1 of African descent, 1 of Asian descent, 1 of possible British descent and 1 made in a lab.

Thats a pretty healthy smattering, especially considering that Shepard can be literally anything.

And if you're going to complain about Indian representation without an accent, you have to acknowledge crewman Patel on the SR2.

That's a lie.  BioWare and EA have said nothing during this entire build up.  Their response has always been "cannot confirm or deny".

You're going to take the word of a 4th party game media outlet posted A MONTH ago over what we've found out in the past 48 hours?
