So, someone's opinion that it might be shattered steel, despite the incisor rifle, makes you doubt it's mass effect? I'm sorry but you're too easily persuaded. Given the fact that it's the incisor rifle, it's clearly ME related. After reports about sources revealing that it was ME3, and others saying it's an ME2 expansion pack (similar to awakening) it added to the credibility that it's related to the trilogy. Now EA slips up with the ME3 listing on their website, and pre order, price, description, etc... and you still doubt it's ME3? It's definitely no shattered steel. Bioware has a full docket with ToR, DA:2, and ME3. I doubt that they're going to be starting up another franchise, especially with assets from ME2 that's just cheap, while they're in the middle of two trilogies and about to release their first MMO.

And that's coming from someone who yesterday was pretty sure this was going to be an all new franchise.  
Its ME3.  There's just too much evidence in support.

I'm just guessing, I don't know. Where have you heard it from? Logically it'd probably be Dec 2011, or Jan 2012. I'm hoping the former.

A 2 year (or 23 month technically) turn around on a game reusing the same engine and one that has been in preproduction even before that?  Seems reasonable, no?

It's been in development before ME2 came out, so it's even longer than 2 years. Very reasonable date I recon.

I suppose. It was December 2009 when Casey Hudson said that they had already begun working on ME3. The UE3 is already modified to specifications, they have a good source of modular assets, so it shouldn't be long I assume. Bioware even said that they don't want to have people waiting long to finish off the trilogy. I'd say Dec 2011 is probably reasonable.

I think thats' known as "Call of Duty"

To be fair, Bioware is way better than both of them, and they aren't focusing on creating hype, or reworking a multiplayer, or an extremely action-scripted (but short) single-player mode which is probably a coding nightmare.

Yeah didn't Bioware release Jade Empire only a few months before the Xbox 360? I don't think it sold well on console-could be related.

Actually, Microsoft expects Kinect to extend their console's life another 5 years. Sony also with their Move. But after recent issues with my xbox, I'm sticking with the PC on this one.

Haha, I know, yet I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be laughing about that statement or be disappointed !
I mean, there's no way the technical capabilities of the consoles, especially the xbox, will be able to compete anywhere near the PC. It will hold back game development (there have been several complaints already) and risk a shift back to PC.

Bland White guy? Really? It's odd how you "pro-diversity" types do not realize that Whites are the most diverse race on the planet. Btw, Italians are White.

Yeah, according to Casey, they started working on ME3 before ME2 even came out, which was around December 2009. An exact year ago.

Well I was wrong, it's not a new IP. Though I didn't mind if I was wrong though. 

I really really hope that this presentation is awesome, and I hope ME3 will round up a majority of awards tomorrow.

I hope my DVR can hold this much awesomeness...

Not trying to turn this into an off topic console war, but I'll just say this: I used to prefer the xbox over pc until I started experiencing problems from the last update. My console lagged, online games froze, ME2 was literally unplayable. It was extremely buggy. I moved over to the PC and loved it, the loading screens were sort of non-existant to me because they went by in a matter of 2-3 seconds in comparison to my xbox's 20-30 second loading screens. The only issue is that the PC's texture detail, specifically the body, is extremely blurry. I put the texture detail on the highest settings, yet they don't look as good as the textures on the xbox. But that's just me. 

I also want to note that Epic Games, the creators of the UE3, are working on the UE4, or whatever they're naming the next engine, specifically for next gen consoles. So I wouldn't rule out consoles in the near future just yet. Although I still prefer PC now. 

But let's not steer this off topic.

alright, I've seen the evidence: there is ABSOLUTELY no way that it is not Mass Effect. I am not 100% sure that it is ME3. It might be an expansion pack, who knows? but it is DEFINITELY Mass Effect.

I don't think so.  Usually in their trailers BioWare features a notable character.

Like the first-ever trailer in ME2, people didn't know until release that that geth was Legion (or didn't pick up that it was named "The Legion Trailer")
