Now, to repeat what everyone else is saying....the first patches up to 1.02a worked fine on my old system. I had no complaints. I was happy. I came back to Dragonage when patch 1.04 hit. Fix-ups for a game is never bad. What did I experience? Crash after crash after crash.
My new system? Same crashes as the old one with 1.04 patch. Yes, I use the latest drivers. Yes, I vacuum my machine out. Yes, I have enough air flow (120mm x 2 fans + 3 smaller standard fans in front, back, and topside). Yes, I know what I'm doing caring for and tweaking my computer!
So, how am I playing Dragonage now? Newly reinstalled 7 x64 using 1.02a patch with mods from Nexus. Crashes? Not a one.
A lot of people here have above average experience when it comes to computers...especially their own system that they built with their own two hands!
Still no word on a patch? Shocking.

I experience frequent CTD with Dragon Age: Ultimate Edition.
I have solved this by forcing single processor core affinity on the DAO process.

I am in complete agreement. I loved the game, it got patched and i started the expansion. Now everytime I cast Holy Smite I crash. I have been gaming on the PC since the 386 days and have never seen such a great developer do so little to address widespread problems. Again, like Matt said, this is not isolated; many cannot complete the game. I have a bleeding edge system and I can't finish this game.

I am not sure about programming anymore. Back when I was in "software engineering" we wrote 6502 assembly, and "high level languages" were things like COBOL and FORTRAN. Therefore, I cannot argue thoroughly the points of programming that lead to CTDs.
I understand that PC gaming has issues that console gaming does not, however I continue to be mystified why after *four* patches/updates things like item sets and quest progression are so slow to be fixed. That issue in Orzammar with potentially be stuck depending on which house to support, was apparantly only fixed in the most recent patch! Sure, it's more than just changing a data table/matrix or two, but surely it should be in a better state than it is?!

You see, in those days programming was a profession, now it's a business. It's not profitable to spend time and money on fixing the problems of a minority (sorry, it's true, you are a minority, that's why your needs are ignored, now you know how it feels to be a minority), so it's not done. Not profitable? Surely it would help to secure more future business? The way it is has certainly lost mine. But then, I'm in a minority and a system we all voted for; that doesn't treat minorities fairly?! Wait a minute, which countries are we in again? You've got one thing right for sure, we can all "vote".
