Interesting, but I think that ground reapers should be far more powerful and not use conventional weapons.
Actually, my vision of the ground Reapers are that they are not Reapers at all, but remote conrolled drones. There couldn't be such a thing as a small Reaper really... Reapers are giant sentient ships that are controlled by a larva core made out of other creatures bodies, so having a small Reaper would be quite impossible. Although it would be cool if after you take one of these out, its armor will fall down revealing some sort of larva core inside that will be kind of like a husk.lol jk
No, I get that, I was just thinking that for something to be called "ground reaper" it should be justified, otherwise it's just another robot.

I actually like this idea. |Harbinger towering over you, and you having to just run, dodging the beams while simultaneously fighting husks.

Well that might be interesting but I dont see Harbinger beating the crap out of Shepard. He has a thing for Shepard dont you recall ME2 when you fought the Collectors.

Things change. I think after Shepard foiled the Reaper's plans for the third time, Harby will give up and show no mercy.

Yes, I forgot to mention - neither will Shepard.

Confirmed Perma:
James Sanders
Liara T'sony
Tali Zorah vas Neema/Normandy
Asley Williams/Kaiden Alenko
Garrus Vakarian
Probable Perma:
Legion
Mordin Solus (or is this just me hoping?)
Miranda Lawson
Jack (obvious since you are against Cerberus now)
Grunt (I don't think you could find a third nice Krogan in the whole galaxy)
That makes 10. Obviously, there will be more new guys though, so some of these probables may not really be perma.
Tempos:
Wrex (confirmed in PCG?)
Thane
Mordin (please no!)
classic guy that dies in the beginning (eg. Jenkins and that Dr. from ME2)
Admiral Anderson (will he be the dying one?)
Cameos:
Jacob (boring as s**t)
Samara (dumb)
Morinth (**** must die)
What do you think?

What about the players who killed Garrus and/or Tali? Will they get replaced by some new squaddies or will those players have to play ME3 with less squadmembers?
Prolly refering to suicide mission i assume.
If your garrus died in ME2 he will not be ressurected for ME3 (Confirmed by casey) he will stay dead.
New squaddies if both or one of them died? i can only see james sanders as replacement tbh.

I dont think Mordin or Grunt will be permanent, nor Jack. All of them can die, would leave to many holes in team since i doubt they would replace so many dead ones with new squaddies. I think of a new squaddies we will probably see some new races, one of the most obvious is batarians. Very likely new salarian and token krogan also. .

I imagine they'll just have less squadmates. We actually need a consequence for not keeping people alive in the SM, just replacing them is kinda cheap.armass wrote...

Anyway, contributing to the discussion, I reckon, other than those that are already confirmed, we'll have Legion, maybe Mordin and Miranda as permanent squadmates, with Grunt, Jack, Thane, Anderson, Wrex and Jacob as temporary squadmates, and Samara, Morinth and the 2 DLC characters in cameo roles. I also quite like the idea of Anderson being the red-shirt, that would certainly be quite a big... shock to the system, at least for those who have played the first two. As long as we're with him for a while beforehand.

Agreed - something like a YMIR mech with a beam weapon like the Praetorian or the Oculus would be awesome. Some sort of husk or ground reaper that acts like husk-Saren did but much easier to kill would be cool as well.Jzadek72 wrote...

Dear Bioware,
Since you delayed the game, Mass Effect 3 will come out between 9 and 11 months from now. This means that there is still time to add elements (like vehicles, which you MUST add as a main gameplay element by the way). I crave ground Reapers. I want them to appear in the game and I want them me give the kind of fear that ME2's praetorian gave us. I want them to be the size of a scion from ME2, maybe even a little bigger, and I want them to kick the players ass.
You should give these remotely-controlled-mini-Reapers an awesome name (I suggest Delta Reapers) and they should come in five types:
1) Reaper Ranger: This guy should be very common (7-9 times per mission), he should be as strong as a YMIR Mech: it should have mounted machine gun and rocket launcher as weapons; and it should be as tough as a normal enemie: It should have both shields and armor and should be defeatable in as fast a time as a sentinel merc. This guy should have the normal Delta Reaper look, meaning he should look like a huge, purple-armor plated beetle with four yellow eyes and guns attached to the bottom of two of their six insectile claws.
2) Reaper Assasin: This beast will be the close-ranged Reaper type, and he is easily defeatable before he gets too close to you, which will result in a one hit kill for you and your squad. He should have less shields and armor as the Ranger, and instead of gunned claws, his claws will have sharp blades, his eyes should shine white and his head shape should be longer than that of the Ranger. He should appear regularly, but the amount of times in a mission should still be countable (4 or 5 times per mission). His classic attack will be a stunning shrieck followed by him sprinting towards you or your squad at meleeing them.
3) Reaper Warrior: Probably the toughest normal enemie in the game and one of the most uncommon enemies in the hole game (1 or 2 times per mission), this guy will be absolutely devastating. It should be a full on biotic that should use a super fast warps (about 3 per second for two seconds), it should have a massive shockwave, and it should have charge and an exclusive power that allows him to blast everyone around him with a biotic bubble that pushes them away. It should have blue lit eyes and all its biotics should shine blue instead of purple. He should much scarier than the Ranger and the Assasin: He should have cracks where the armor can't be seen, out of which a blue light should eminate, it should be slightly bigger than the other two and each time it appears in front of you, you should be washed with fear.
4) Reaper Technician: This guy should be there to support the rest, he should be much much more humanoid and should have basic tech powers. He should be quite annoing as his signature move should be to replenish the rest of the Reaper's shields. He should be as easily killable as a normal collector, and should even slightly resemble a collector in his shape and size. His eyes should be green.
5) Spider-Reaper: Walking on all fours, this Reaper should come in swarms, its eyes should be red and it should really resemble a spider. The signature weapon to fight it should be the shotgun, and it should only have a small amount of armor and NO SHIELDS. This means one shotgun shot should take him down. His signature move should be to shoot an acid at you (very much like that of a Thresher Maw), and he should have a weak melee attack aswell.
You should remeber that these guys will be accompanied by the many new husks, so there will be no lack of enemies in Reaper missions at all.
Thank you for listening Bioware, I hope you take this in mind because I bet anyone will agree most of this is awesome. I love you!
P.S.
Please quote this so Bioware will see it, people. I wants me some ground Reapers!!!
Interesting, but I think that ground reapers should be far more powerful and not use conventional weapons.
I wouldn't want them being as common as you're saying, however. Maybe just having, say, a Ranger appearing two or three times for every hour or so mission.
Inspiration needs to be taken from Half-Life 2's Striders as well. They were awesome.

I am fairly certain that all Love Interests will return in either full or partial squadmate capacity, as there are fans (and Shepards) that need conclusion to their arcs.

They may be doing something for squad AI according to Christina Norman:
"The AI improvements we did for Liara could also help us produce more
customized AIs for squad members in ME3. By writing more specific logic
for use of individual powers, we may be able to add more personality to
individual squad members beyond their basic power and weapon loadouts."
Developer Diary - Liara, Stasis and the Shadow Broker
(scroll down to the end)
And some feedback was asked for Heavy Weapons:
Heavy Weapons in Mass Effect 2 & 3
and with results: Heavy Weapon Data
Old I know but I wondered if they are useful
