I wouldn't worry, apparently it's more just the magazine speculating.

Let's not jump to conclusions. I think Bioware wouldn't reveal something like that. Probably author's guess.

That Garrus thing was also hinted at by the...I think it was Garrus' writer? They said he would have similarities to Mercutio and Wash (firefly/serenity).  Hope it is just speculation.

I havea feeling it'll be preventable though, assuming it is true. I also can't see it having a big impact on the actual story as he can die in ME2.

Rest of the features sound pretty cool. Especially armour having a bigger impact on gameplay and being able to lose races to the reapers. (not sure exactly how though...maybe they get surrender if they don't think you can overcome the reapers or something, or maybe by "lose them to" it just means they'll be destroyed. Confusing wording.)

It doesn't actually  say you can hijack a mech. It says:

"take the Cerberus Atlus, a heavy mech. You can focus your fire on the limb, shattering the casing - or you can go for the glass of the cockpit and take out the pilot."

Phaedon, given that all we have is second hand knowledge, It'd probably be for the best to treat most of that information as a little more than rumour. I'm just not sure about it being classified as definitely confirmed features. Perhaps tag them as "uncertain".
