But rarely did enemies burst into flames/plasma etc, I am talking about the customization itself.Celrath wrote...
I think have an enemy burst in to flames and turn to dust is a pretty good visual incentive. But if your talking about each upgrade changing the look of the weapon I doubt that will happen. If anything it will just be three different models with varying textures, to be realistic. Yeah the 10 different levels for the same upgrades was a bit excessive. that is easily fixed though all the have to do is have one upgrade replace the last as its acquired, and have all the upgrades stored separate from the main inventory. About the up grades having little effect it was the same way in ME2
I don't see why every model won't change. At least that's what magazines, especially GI in their podcast imply. Also, there will be more personalization, as you cah choose different colours, camo etc.that is easily fixed though all the have to do is have one upgrade replace the last as its acquired, and have all the upgrades stored separate from the main inventory.
Why not use the ME1&2 style combined. Leave the weapons/armor upgrade system that makes the weapons work better and reward players for purchasing/hunting for upgrades. This time around thou make them give only a little damage boost and concentrate on giving like bigger magazines, alternate fire, charged shots ability like the geth shootgun.
Why stop at that, leave the 3-4 different kind of weapons like ME2 had with different design and specs (fire rate, damage) and make the mods tweak the weapon like they did in ME1. This way we only need 3-4 types of scopes, 4-7 types of barrels, 3-4 types of stock, 4-5 types off ammo that can be used by any type of weapon. You choose your loadout like you choose the ME2 weapons: Choose weapon type, choose from that the right desing/dps gun, customize it damage by mod and paint and go go go to war.

That's not really the problem, the only difference between levels are some minor stat changes.Celrath wrote...
No but I still think there better then all the splash screen in ME2. I feel that was a step back.
The splash screen is a step back, the way out would be for the elevator to stop when the loading is done and not be set in stone for its duration.
