I wonder how they will make soldier unique now that everyone can use any weapon. Just having 4 slots for weapons as opposed to 3 or 2 is not good enough in my opinion.

Yes,I've been thinking the same thing

Biggest health?

Maybe even add more damage?

Dev Promise: ME3 aimed to have the same length as ME2.

Not sure if this concerns anyone else but I found ME:2 to be rather short.  Once we are able to obtain the IFF, I fully expected a long battle while trying to gain access to the Collector base instead of what actually happened.  To me, it felt like the game worked so much to build up the end battles that it just finished too quickly.

Perhaps I'm reading too much into this.

Short? Compared to what? Action RPGs don't tend to be very long, and ME1's main storyline is essentially shorters than that of most shooters.

I was considering how long ME:1 was or some of the older BioWare RPG's.  Still, length doesn't have much value if the side missions suck which was part of why ME:1 isn't as much fun to replay as I think ME:2 is.

I think around 30 hours is just fine. Especially when the game encourages multiple playthroughs.

There is the new concussive shot which combines with your ammo type. Then ther's the Soldier specific melee attack, the 5 or 6 weapon slots and adrenaline rush. Maybe we can get immunity back?

When it says that all weapons available does that mean I can keep the Widow

Ehhh I don't know. It's still lacking in awesome factor even with boost in HP and dmg. Some new powers would do trick but I've no idea what could they add. I guess something akin to overkill from ME1 would be nice.

EDIT: I don't know how you people play games so quickly ... ME2 took me 50 hours to finish on my first playthrough. Including DLC it is 57.

Yep, you get back all your weapons plus some of your powers (but not maxed out). We will get our Widow back... ;)

Since the Revenant has been spotted in some screenshots, I'd imagine the Widow will be available as well.

What, did only the weapons make the soldier unique in ME2?

My Engineer playthrough lasted about 50 hours too.

ME3 will have skill trees and such, though. Might get more out of that.

Well there was AR which was pretty good but it is just one power. C. Shot is not really that useful at least to me. Ammo powers were not that cool and other classes had them as well.

It took me 33 hours on insanity with layer of the shadow broker but I only did like 4 or so exploration side-missions (I did do all the Citadel, Omega and Illium side missions though). So I did about 70% of the game in 33 hours. Is that considered short?

YES we can have all weapons carry over to ME3, this is great because I was wondering if buying the weapon packs would be a waste of money. All I want know is to know to what extent the ME2 characters will play in ME3. Im hoping that Miranda, Legion, and Mordin will be squadies. But I trust Casey Hudson to make the right decision (whatever it is).

You can now combine concussive shot with ammo powers. I wish ammo powers were upgrades instead of being powers just so the soldier would actually have more than 2 of them. For the next game they should fix this.

I don't know if it has been asked and/or confirmed in a tweet but...

What about the heavy weapons? Will they return too? Along with moddable parts?

How about an even more powerful Cain? Or a Cain that cycles faster? :joke:

There was an interview that stated HW in ME3 way before the first trailer released. I can't remeber what they said though. Anyhow, you should ask Casey weather HW are moddable in twitter.

Give him a break, he's just in his 30s... (lol) No, I knoiw he's old, but he was so good as a squad member and as a friend (he was like the Garrus equivalent of ME2) in game... I don't know what I'll do without him... :( Him and either Miranda or Legion were my super squad... :crying:

Seriously, there's 20% chance he might return, because of his age? maybe as temporary squadmate, but not confirmed yet.

I hope we can buy our weapons in the stores this time, instead of just going: "Oh, what a coincidence! I tripped over this high powered sniper rifle which is better than the one I'm currently using!"

Defeating bosses and collect their guns would be neat too.

Ugh, gross. I ain't prying no gun from the cold dead hands of my enemies unless it's been sanitized beforehand.

Someone must make a vehicle thread. I absolutely think vehicles should be part of the main gameplay, unlike what KC said in GI. We managed to change the matter of the 'no new LIs' we can still change the vehicles. LotSB was a perfect example of how BioWare can pull vehicles off perfectly and I personally hate the Hammerhead and love the Mako. Sorry if I made spelling mistakes, its quite late here.
