Let me see what ME3 has:

A story more like ME1s.
Squad armor customization.
New LIs, and improved relationships.
Squad banter (I could die happy).
Vehicles.
Weapon pick ups, and customization.
Improved visuals and sound effects.
Massive boss fights, and huge moments.
Multileveled maps.
More Shepard appearances.
First two games plus the DLCs have effects later on.
Smaller but more personal teams.
More emotional Shepard, and Shepard's past.
More potent biotics.
Zaeed ****ing Massani.
Possible space combat!
Sellable items/weapons (hinting at lots of items, without hoarding).
Beautiful redesigns of everyone.
Species home worlds, in addition to Omega, the Citadel, possibly Tuchanka, and Illium.
8 more months of development time!!!
Crazy and apparently epic endings.

Seriously. I was concerned about how ME3 would turn out...but not any more. Not only has EVERY
problem I've had with ME2 been addressed, but so much new content is being packed into this game that I don't think I will be able to handle the awesome without burning my hands!

The next 8 months are going to redefine how we play TPSs, and how people perceive gaming.

Gears 3, U3, Max Payne 3, and ME3.

Ouch. This is so awesome.

*wipes bloody nose*

Now reading it all....plus R3, and a new AC

I dont think i can handle...

so.....much,,,,,awsesomness....

Nope....cant...do it

*head explodes*

I forgot about AC Revolution. I absolutely can't wait to find out what happens in that!

It's interesting, the main reason these titles are so important to me is because of the stories.

Gears 1 had an awful story. Gears 2 had a story that actually tried to be good, and as a result, was pretty decent. Gears 3 is pushing the story to the next level, and prepping the player for the end. The fact that the game, already looking incredibly polished by fall of last year, got a 8 month delay utterly surprised and pleased me. No fear of rushing. No fear of broken MP. No fear of them not going in and redoing sections of the game that they were uncomfortable with. I can't always say this of Epic Games, but damn, and I proud of them this time.

Revolution is part four in a series of genuinely abstract but good story telling, and is getting the player ready for ACIII's finale. AC is one series I would say is a perfect example of how some times gaming has to tell a story in a different fashion than a book or movie. It is so massive, diverse, and complex, that trying to condense it into a 10 hours campaign just doesn't cut it.

Uncharted 3 isn't the end of the Uncharted universe, and thank god, as far as I'm concerned. It was never set up to  be part of a finite number of games. But with that said, I fully expect the series to take a "rest" after two more games.

I remember feeling really bummed by ME3's delay (even though I kept telling people that a delay was almost inevitable). But when I looked at the list of stellar titles coming out in the fall...I honestly don't think I've seen a better line up. Ever. I seriously wouldn't be surprised if 2013 ended up being a "hang over" year, after the incredible highs of 2011-2012.

FPSs are also having a superb year.

Portal 2
Crysis 2
Duke Nukem (which I won't be getting, but whatever)
Resistance 3
BattleField 3 (fvcking finally!)
Killzone 3
And I suppose MW3

(but I consider that whole series, since MW2, the necessary evil to maintain the entire gaming industry in America-- milked to no end)

ME3 is probably going to scare me with how amazing it is. Just how I like it.

You forgot the best part about Gears 3. Dedicated servers.

I was initially happy that ME3 was delayed. More dev time is never bad right? These confirmed feature updates are making the wait harder though.

Luckily we have a dozen excellent titles to hold our attention until ME3. Alas, when it does come out, I'll be off at college, so I won't be able to play it anyways. At least not for a few months. But I'm hardly bothered.

WHAT?! When where The Citadel and Omega confirmed?! If this is true, I am extremely happy. I was worried the citadel (and Omega) was going to be snubbed because we are probably visiting all the major homeworld cities (and thus wouldn't have time to waste on little ol' citadel and omega :/).

As far as I know they haven't confirmed either area
Highly unlikely they would not include them though (at least not the Citadel, Omega could go either way)

Depends on why it was delayed.  With EA,  it could easily be because it was "Too complicated".  I've my doubts on whether or not EA's motivations are in our best interests.

TBH,  I fully expect it to turn out to be EA wants Multiplayer forced into it.  Though I suppose it could be that EA's seen the light and the DA2 debacle made them realize that forced short-development times is a bad idea and ends up costing them.  Especially since I don't think EA wants to walk into Star Wars release with a reputation of DA2 and a subpar ME3,  so there is a chance that it was a well-intentioned event.

But I still doubt.

Amazing, isn't it? I wasn't in the least expecting it to turn out this way.

As for the Citadel and Omega, technically, they haven't been confirmed yet, but it's anything but illogical to assume they won't make an appearance in-game.

I think somewhere it is confirmed that Omega is part of ME3. Hell, we'll have to sort out Aria's corruption/rebellion in some form or another. And then there's the hint in ME1 that we haven't explored he lower levels of the Citadel.

Oh, and did I forget to mention same sex relationships?! Not something that I'll probably look into, but still something that will be really excellent.

Basically, everything the perfect RPG needs is being added: choice. And we're getting all of it.

Now I'm just waiting for them to confirm that they've given FemShep her deserved animations, though that's probably not going to happen any time soon.

The way I see it, if it happened in DAII, then it has a very good chance of happening here. DAII had different animations for their women. Hell, Miranda and Samara had their own animations.

So yes, I agree. To perfect that list of unfathomable awesome there need to be two more things:

Different animations for Femshep. Strong, but definitely woman.
Get rid of the action pose. There's no reason why Shepard and Co. should be running around with their guns pointed at nothing constantly. Just give us an aim and zoom like Uncharted and Gears.

Portal 2( that junk won't run on my PC while I can Crysis 2 on medium graphics with no problems)
Crysis 2( it sucks, Crysis 1 and Warhead are FAR superior in both gameplay and EVEN graphics)
Duke Nukem (which I won't be getting, but whatever)( I'm so getting this game, it can not fail)
Resistance 3( not on PC, whatever)
BattleField 3 (fvcking finally!)( I'm getting it but not on launch day, I really hate" Marines rule, muslims evil" kind of games)
Killzone 3( not on PC but I saw LP of previous games, meh)
And I suppose MW3( Dear Lord no! I'm big CoD fan but MW2 was so bad that I'm not even LOOKING at this game!)

That's a bit meh. I was hoping for dramatic endings, full of (self) sacrifice. I don't have to necessarily be able to play the game after the ending, if that means getting a more powerful conclusion.

Well, HL 2 EP3 will probably be released in 2012 as well, so I doubt that ME3 will take as many GOTYs as ME2 did.

I'm not buying that one after Portal 2 was unplayable on my PC( AND I CAN PLAY DAMN CRYSIS 2!).

Pretty much confirms a happy ending. Oh well, not as if we didn't see it coming.

That's very strange because Portal 2 runs on entry level hardware. Hell, they even support Intel chipsets.

Eh, for all we know the post-story game takes place in a ravaged, half-deserted galaxy.

Plus, this doesn't really disprove the possibility of a "Shepard fails" or "Shepard dies" ending. They didn't say "you can always play after the story".

I'm really hoping that they have some areas that respawn enemies for replay. Replaying missions is all fun and dandy, but even just having some things to do after the main mission is over. Dare I say even some more story after the final battle?
Like the cigarette after well... you know...
...killing a race of giant sentient machines.
