 Wait—longer hair?! Score! ^_^

except its shaved at the sides. I hope to god its not going to be ugly but everytime I hear "she's got a pony tail and her hair is shaved at the sides" I think... ugly...

But I guess we will just have to wait and see. Also, I really do hope they give armor to Ashley. I've said it before and I'll say it again, she just looks like a totally different person in her picture. I don't know what it is, maybe its her eyes or something..but she looks completely different.

Huh? I thought the news was that Shepard was getting longer hair options...:huh:

Yeah, I was talking about Jack. Sorry I guess I took your comment out of context..but STILL! I hope jack doesn't look ugly w/ her new hair style

I can't imagine Jack could ever look too 'mature', not matter what they do. She'll always have an edge. I can't imagine they'd put her in pearls and a prom dress. ;)

Haha yeah...but I keep picturing a mullet type thing and its just not right. lol. Well, whatever they do, I hope it turns out great. tbh, i never cared for Jack so ultimately I'm like w/e about her. I am a little upset that she is a perm. squaddie (that's what I heard...but maybe I heard she was just a returning squadmate) I felt like there were so many other characters who could be better potential permanent squad mates. Samara (LOVE her story..but I guess there is already an asari on the team), Miranda, even Jacob (I personally thought Jacob was an incredibly underrated character. His personality could use a little work - kinda bland, but he is SO useful in so many different situations)

If she is permanent though, I hope they make her stronnnng. Cuz she dealt out MAJOR damage while escaping the prison but when you actually get her...she sucks. :( I thought she would be my fave character, turns out she became my least fave. SO! Hopefully they rework her and turn her into a powerhouse who charges forward w/o thinking -- and can LIVE! She kept dying on me in ME2 so I never used her much because of it..

Mechs eh? Any more details? Flashbacks to my glory days of the Mechwarrior series.

Take out the driver and you can get to use them is all we know
I really should play that game though...

There's localized damage too, like with all other enemies.

YES to longer hair!! Hopefully they will make it less "stiff" this time and actually have movement. Its so irritating to see Shepard running around with her hair as stiff as a plastic wig.

Wow a nice bit of info from Jesse 'GTez' Houston:

http://twitter.com/#...704278405451776

"How many permanent squadmates are you guys going to unveil/confirm at #E3 ? No specifics necessary right now.."

"At least 2 >grin<"

That comment means nothing.

Also I think there's a bit of joke going on there that if they show Shepard in combat, they are going to have to show two squadmates. Cause you know Shepard always drags 2 people with them. It'll probably be Kaidan/Ashley and Liara or Garrus and Tali to win over the hearts and minds of series fans.

I'd be surprised if they unveiled all the squadmates available, since it's unlikely that they've actually finished them all. (They're still getting and recording VAs at the moment.)

No?
She just said squad-mates powers evolve multiple times in ME3.

"Will there be a similar system where squad-mates powers evolve more than once like Shepard's powers can?"

"squad member powers in me3 will be fully customizable just like Shepard's powers"

@Bluko
I got that feeling too when he included the "<grin>"
But I also think they will show off Vega and perhaps another squadmate.

Not sure if this has already been put on the list but one of my answers was answered about converstation interrupts on Twitter. http://twitter.com/#!/CaseyDHudson

I'm just saying that teamates have always had the same progression as Shepard, so when it was confirmed that Shepard's powers evolved multiple times I already knew that was the case for everyone else.

True enough.
I asked her that question because she said that squadmates wouldn't be getting weapon customization in ME3, meaning they would be the same as ME2.

By the sounds of it she's sporting an undercut.

No idea how she could grow such a style in only 2-3 months though

To be honest, I don't get the whole overall "redesign" thing at all. BioWare said almost all the old characters have gone through a redesign and changed somewhat appearance wise, but considering that this is set only shortly after ME2 by mere months I don't really get how so many characters would change that much considering such a small time frame. Especially if they didn't change that much in the 2 year gap between ME1 and (most of) ME2 (such as Ashley and Kaidan, who now suddenly have to look new and different). Hearing this I too immediately thought of Jack and thought, "could she even grow her hair that long at all in such a short period?" It just seems a little weird if everybody suddenly decides to go through a makeover pretty much all at the same time.

Doesn't ME2 take like a year or something (jugding by Retribution)?

I don't think it's quite that long. ME1 supposedly took 3-4 months I believe, depending on how you went about things. ME2 probably wasn't that much longer, if it was longer at all. In either case, everybody pretty much looked the same throughout, except for Liara who got a makeover part the way through LotSB's events (which I always attributed to her purposefully altering her makeup to change her appearance given the circumstances). The only real differences were if you gave them alternate outfits, but then they still didn't get complete makeovers. Jack's hair is the same length at the start of ME2 as it is at the end.

I don´t have the books but I am sure that it's stated that it's been a year or something. You also have to take LOTSB/Arrival into account so it's possible that ME2 + bridging DLC takes roughly one year in total.

As for characters not changing looks. Well, I guess that more because Bioware not wanting to create too many diffrent models. They retconned Liara's apperance (I don´t think she just changed makeup) in LOTSB to make her look better, which was pretty cool.

Anyway my point is. I think it's entirely plausible and realistic that the characters change apperance. Just because the model itself didn't change in ME2 maingame. Have some suspension of disbelief.
