They retconned Liara's apperance (I don´t think she just changed makeup) in LOTSB to make her look better, which was pretty cool.

I don't like to think of it as a retcon. Mostly because I hate pointless, unnecessary retcons (such as DA2 changing its entire art style) but because it doesn't really make much sense to be a retcon, considering she still looked like she previously did in the early LotSB stuff and didn't change until later. If it really was a retcon, wouldn't they just have replaced the entire character model throughout the game? And it does make sense for he to try and alter her appearance given the circumstances (she was in danger, and a recognisable figure after all).

updating a character model to take advantage of advances in technology is not a retcon - would anyone have been happy with a low-resolution character model during LoSB when everyone else had been updated for ME2? - no.

Uh... but Liara was already updated for vanilla ME2. She wasn't using the same model and textures as she was in ME1. Same goes for the other characters. Besides, there's also a difference in updating a character model and changing the way the character looks. Liara's LotSB complexion, eye and lip colour is completely different from her ME1 and vanilla ME2 one ,while everybody else looks pretty much the same as they did in ME1, albeit with slightly better textures and models.

Good news about longer hair, I'm hoping that means more beards as well haha :)
But I'm wondering how the appearances of Shepard's can change between games, considering it's only a few months and Shepard isn't exactly going to die again.....
Also when they say that two squadmates will be "unveiled", does that mean two squadmates we know about or 2 brand new ones? I'm really hoping it's the latter but it seems unlikely

the dress was a standard ME1 low-texture effort - they might have changed the model slightly (or it could have simply been the new lighting systems in ME2 anyway, but the overhaul for LoSB was justified if you compare the ME2 characters to the ME1 ones - look at ash/kaiden's armour on horizon, for example, where they didn't change anything.

The ability to change hairstyle on the ship or other locations at will would be nice.

DA2's change of art style is whole other can of worms.

And no. Liara changes more than just makeup AFAIK, She has a diffrent skin-colour and her eyes a more richer blue. Her freckles are also darker (I think).

AS for her diffrences of apperances. Bioware can be lazy like that. I doubt they wanted to change too much of the core game itself to suit the DLC's needs. Liara's office also has some crazy lighting and her LOTSB version might look weird in it.

Just like Garrus's C-sec armor and Shepard's N7 armor were given an update from ME1 to ME2. So was Liara given a higher quality look to match the rest of the ME2 cast and so Bioware has to do less work for ME3.

And her lips are dark ble instead of pink.

Which makes her look WAAAAYYYY better.

Sweet. I'm guessing some Krogan and a returning ME2 character that had a lower chance of dieing (maybe legion?).

Miranda had a lesser chance of dying FYI

Cerberus know where her sisters location is.... Cerberus has gone rouge and is after shepard... mirander is with shepard.... dont get ya hopes up to high .

I don't know who this mirander person is but...
The ME2 squad broke up after the SM according to a few magazine articles.  So yeah she isn't with Shepard.  Also there was no dialogue from her that she resigned from Cerberus if you kept the base.

IF we get a sidequest mission to help Miranda get her twin from Cerberus I'm leaving her sis to rot I hated helping Miranda in ME2 and the only one I'll tag along with her on is if she's going to meet her dad. Hopefully it turns into a Jack moment and we/she finds out she was all wrong and ran away for nearly nothing.

Keep in mind that nothing "quoted" is 100% guaranteed. We are still developing the game and features change, we adapt, refine and improve. Just because you think it is there now based off an old interview (or even a new one) that doesn't mean it will or will not be in the game.

I only point this out so people don't say "But I saw in a thread that "X" feature was confirmed". NOTHING is confirmed until we ship.

Mmm-hmm.

@Terror_K ME3 takes place 2 months after Arrival, which is probably a few months after ME2, canonically. Not that you would just wait for your hair to grow in the future.

There will definately be uber hair enlongators in future. You guys should really calm down about Jack and Shepard's long hair. You really expected them to make multiple character models per squad mate in ME2? God! You are worse than wikipidea!

Phaedon, are you trying for the "forum's longest title without being a troll" award?  I think you just won.:P

Thoughts on new hair textures/lengths:
  • Cool
  • Hope the clipping isn't so horrible I have to go back to the really short styles

The Wizard did it.

Or better yet, Mass Effect Fields.

There was actually a "Someone please tell Phaedon to stop posting threads with paragraph long titles edition" sort of title not a while ago.

Ah, Mass Effect: Where being brought back from the dead following terminal atmospheric re-entry is more believable than Hair extensions.
