Eh. Alright. Makes enough sense with the sniper thing, I guess. But it's still... less useful. It works only for a specific situation.
It needs more tweaks for it to be like 'huh, this is interesting, I should consider putting points into this instead of Incendiary or AP ammo!'
AP ammo. *hugs it*
AP ammo doesn't worth it.
It's only 10% better then Incendiary ammo.
Warp ammo is far superior because it also effects Barrier.
It's only 10% better on paper. In practice, Tungsten Ammo kills faster than Inferno ammo. When an enemy gets hit with an Inferno round, he takes the bonus damage over a period of 3 seconds. That 3 seconds gets reset every time the effect is activated so, by and large, inferno ammo does very little total bonus damage to health. Put another way, you never have multiple "take 60% bonus damage over three seconds" debuffs running at once. When a badguy takes a hit from an inferno round, the current debuff is canceled and a new one started. When using full auto weapons like the Revenant, this means actual health damage inflicted by inferno ammo's bonus is negligible. Not so with AP ammo.
With all that said, I still prefer inferno ammo for the crowd control effects and, like AP, it's pretty awesome against armor only enemies like scions, since armor takes the damage from inferno ammo instantly instead of over time. But, frankly, it sucks compared to AP ammo against health for pure damage. I'm just of the opinion that the fire dance crowd control effect is more immediately useful than the elevated health damage, but I can also easily see how others might not agree with that.
