I just love how Action is placed before RPG. Little things to tell you what EA's priority is. And yes, it bothers me.

Action RPG sounds better than RPG Action. It's also considered a 'standard' term. Not to mention that Role Play Game Action makes no sense.

I hope that is sarcasm, because alphabetical order is nothing special.

No I'm not talking about Action RPG. I understand that. But under Genres, it's primarily an Action game, then an RPG. Look at the leaked photo.

I don't know how I feel regarding Reapers attacking Earth, I mean, I'd love something more subtle as in ME1, I'm not a fan of these bombastic space operas. What I loved about ME1 is how they made a great universe and tied the plot with a galactic cycle and finding its mysteries. Yes the goal was saving the galaxy, but it wasn't as obvious and defined as in ME2. I felt ME2 was a bit too in the face story wise, you almost already knew everything from the start and the only sense of exploration and wonder you had is "exploring" the hub worlds as well as a few select other planets. Don't get me wrong, ME2 is great in itself, but I feel as if they took some of the elements that made the original more or less unique, as well as particularly good. ME1 was more laid back if you will, more immersive, bigger but still highly cinematic.

Well, we don't really know if the Reapers invade Earth from the beginning.

I agree. ME1 was original. It seemed that with ME2 they wanted to go the blockbuster movie route, rather than immersive RPG like ME1. However, according to Christina Norman there will be richer RPG elements. So there's still hope.

I doubt they'd say that "Earth is burning" and spoil something that happens in the game. And from the sound of it, you're retaking Earth. It's all speculation right now, but from what we have so far - it looks like they invade pretty early on in the game, if not the beginning.

It could start like the DA:O plot. And that would not be the only common element it would have with it.

Yeah, and considering ME2's ending, it's highly probable. But I wonder why the Reapers would target Earth specifically. Maybe tons of planets are being invaded, but as humans Earth is still the most important thing to us. I hope they'll explain everything regarding humans and the collectors in ME3.

This post must be read by all of the newlings bashing Mass Effect 1. Sometimes...it's like people forget where things come from. It is like disrespecting an elder....very wrong and a no no, cause without 1.....no 2.

if description is shown on webpage (online store) with photo whether it is temporary or not, it's admitted as official. obviously EA online store was accidentally leak mass effect 3 early today. then all pulled off. it said that release date TBA 2011. also price is set. three platforms (PC, xbox 360, PS3) are all the same price ($59.95).

anyway, we will get more information tomorrow award. after all news, it seems like mass effect 3 with MP feature. 'it will be grateful' (Legion said).

I loved this about it as well; now it seems like Shepard will end up being the lone warrior who can unite the races to save the world. No subtle build-up, no solving the mysteries about what the conduit is before time runs out, no investigating the highly secretive labs that are connected to Saren, nothing.

If this was any other Bioware game, I'd scoff at it. But since it's Mass Effect 3, I'm willing to trust them to do something interesting with the formula. I mean, it's bad in ANY entertainment industry to recycle similar concepts/plots like this in rapid succession (and even if it's reused only occaisionally, it still looks bad). That's the main reason that Avatar is so hated by the minority, afterall.

Anyways, I'm most interested in seeing how all the past choices will pan out. I'm also kind of interested in seeing how Bioware plans to include multiplayer.

My money's on the story not just involving Earth. That's probably just where it starts. Chances are, we'll have to save the whole damn galaxy and the Earth thing is to just grab the attention of people new to the universe.

The taking back of Earth could possibly be where it climatically builds up to, as in the 'final battle' of sorts is defeating the Reapers on Earth.

This is an oxymoron.
A "confirmed feature" is cheating on your ME1 LI will have negative repercussions.
Saying it "might" confirms absolutely nothing. Best this be put under rumours/speculation.

If it is true that during the game the Earth is under attack and you are gathering races, won't it feel weird if you take your time and explore from an RP perspective? I mean there Earth is being burned up, and you're up in space exploring planets, doing side quests and drinking in bars. Just think it'll feel weird if i don't do the main story quick. At least in ME1 and 2 the matter wasn't absolutely urgent, as you weren't entirely sure what was going on, so from an RP perspective you could justify exploring and doing side quests. I'm just thinking out loud, i have no intention of blasting through the main quest, just sayin'.

I'd say the biggest way for them to not mess up is to put any sort of freakin spoilers in any adds or announcements
