Happy page 200!

I suppose now would be the best time to ask; did you ever get my message, Phaedon? In regards to the "dev promises" section.. It would seem the first dot point underneath the title has an unfinished sentence ("Me3 to") and a source which doesn't actually lead anywhere.

Here's what I got from Christina Norman yesterday:
http://social.biowar...8840/39#7482734

From Jesse 'gtez' (if you missed it):
"I'm not sure the Epic version number of what we're using. It's extremely cutting edge though."
http://twitter.com/#...856445782831106

-------------------------------------
Also the 'no fatigue' tweet seems to be a joke on her part since the whole thing says:

"Since #femShep is a cyborg as of #ME2 shouldn't she run like the T-1000 now? Cyborgs don't get fatigued ;) #ME3"

"Yep, no more fatigue while running in me3!"

I had originally put that in then removed it when Waltzingbear mentioned its likely a joke
Just letting you know.

Edit: Happy 200!

Yeah, as I said before, we will definitely get "This Is Palaven!" type of jokes with a picture of Garrus kicking someone. Oh god, someone must make this motivator!

I must have missed that, I'll delete the promise anyway, since the dev window has changed since then.

@Vertigo
Okay, I'll delete it for now, thanks for letting me know.

Not really. Technically they are using UE3, 3.5 is what they started calling it after some patches.

What about the link that has Christina Normans tweets from yesterday (that I thought were relevant to ME3)?

i completely agree.
i hated heavy weapons, EXTREMELY situational. barely ever used. looked horrible ony our back all the time. takes so long to pull out that you were probably better off using something else.

all around horrible.
heavy weapons ftl. hopefully we dont ahve to carry them around all the time. i HATED it. always used the flamethrower since it was the smallest.

Sounds like there will be more variation to the heavy weapons this time around.

I want a deployable gatling gun.

Also, the heavy weapons negate the need for many of the biotic and tech powers, further pushing the player towards being a soldier or vanguard. Why bother playing as a adept, when a soldier can not only carry almost every weapon, but can also carry a heavy weapon that fires a more powerful singularity? Why play as a engineer when you can use the cryolauncher, flame thrower, missile launcher, and arc projector (in addition to all of the other lesser weapons) in the soldier or vanguard class?

I just got done playing through my first ever infiltrator class. It was okay, but you can tell that no where near the work went into making an infiltrator as went into the vanguard. So I turn invisible for 12 seconds, so what? When I shoot my gun, I lose my cloak. When I bash someone, I pull a Kasumi and re-apear. No where near visually or statistically as impressive as the vanguard charge, or adrenaline rush. Hell, even the brief slow mow for sniping is weaker than the adrenaline rush.

I always wanted to play as an adept or engineer Shepard. But I just find it hard to get satisfying game play with them, especially when the game is heaping weapons onto Shepard.

An Adept shouldn't need guns at all. Maybe a pistol, and later weapon training, but initially, an adept should be all about fighting without ammo.

An Engineer should only need at most two guns, and use a vast array of visually and statistically rewarding tech skills. Hell, if anything, and Engineer should have unlimited ammo.

An Infiltrator should only need very long and very short range guns. They should rely entirely on the stealth aspects of the game take out entire teams of enemies without revealing their position.

A Soldier should rely only on fire power, strength, and speed. BW pretty much nailed this in ME2.

A Vanguard should rely on the fire power of a soldier, with a few benefits of an Adept. Bioware nailed this one too.

A Sentinel shouldn't rely on guns AT ALL. No guns. Just tech projectiles and adapt powers wrapped into on. Great at medium to close range, heavily armored, but without the brawling skills of, say, an Infitrator.

Short answer? Because the heavy weapons are limited to power cells.

Normal powers aren't.

True, but it still makes the Soldier and Vanguard into the go-to class, because they get to experience everything the game has to offer, minus cloaking. A black storm weapon holds something like 9 shots at least. A cryo launcher something like 11. The firestorm holds 240 (w/e) minimum. That's more than enough for a casual player to use these weapons more than half as much as a Engineer or Adept uses their own special powers.

I'm tired of the rocket launchers, because they feel weak when I have to put about ten rockets into something to kill it.

Hopefully we can mod them enough that heavy weapons will actually be worth a damn, but as it stand I'd rathe have my grenades back.

They should totally bring back grenades - except make it in ME2 form. When you choose flashbang grenade or fire grenade as your bonus talent you actually have to throw the grenades. What I didn't like about ME1 grenades were how they flew straight out and how you either waited 10 seconds for a detonate or you could detonate them yourself. However, I felt like the radius was really small with the grenades in ME2. They should make it bigger.

Yes. That's the one thing I really miss from Mass Effect 1.  And even frag grenades could be useful,

Yesyesyes bigger explosions, MORE DAKKA!

Because we're going to be fighting BIG THINGS!
