How can Liara be a party member given her current occupation?

I really hope Liara along with the old ME1 sqaud are all back, but LOTSB kind of left us with more questions than answers.

I hope it will be this way in ME 3. I have 2 Savegames: a male Shepard as Paragon and a female Shepard as Renegade, but in both I NEVER cheated on my LI. My Female Shepard had Kaidan as LI and my male Shepard Liara.



I also have some savegames where I cheated on them. I tried all the possible LIs with a male Shepard and all the possible Romances with the female Shepard. But for ME 3 I have prepared my 2 "perfect" savegames.



I will see what happens if I import my savegames in ME 3.

I think it has never been said that ME3 will have multiplayer in it. Only an online fuction, maybe like they have in Dragon Age. It is not doable to have the current Mass Effect Games have a multiplayer function. That would only hold back the feel of your Shepard and your story. This is not Fable, where you can just jump in and go co-opping. Sure you can temporarly take over a squadmember, but thats about it. There will be no added functionality with a multiplayer mode in ME3, in my humble opinion that is ofcourse.

Really not hot on possible multiplayer mode unless its done by another team and takes no focus away from the main game.

I just realized that I have been assuming that ME3 will have a higher level cap with more skills to invest in so that when you import your lv 30 shep, then you still have somewhere to go, but I have this horrible feeling that that might not be a feature.



So I guess it should be said that it would be lame if you had to play through ME3 without getting to build your character at all and having the same skill pool as the last game. Is lame the right word?

I don't know how I feel regarding Reapers attacking Earth, I mean, I'd love something more subtle as in ME1, I'm not a fan of these bombastic space operas. What I loved about ME1 is how they made a great universe and tied the plot with a galactic cycle and finding its mysteries. I totally agree with you here, ME1 was the fledgling state of the series, the exploration came with a sense of mystery; it was ominous and made you imagine just what strange things you might find as you are exploring. But seein the logical progression of the story, i think ME is ready to leave the foreshadowing and mystery behind and climax to complete the shepard/reaper arc. However, i thought the darker tone as we progressed in the series was appropriate from the foreshadowing theme and theme music of ME1. We know what the threat is, and we know it must be stopped. The figurative "loss of innocence" has happened to shepard and his crew and its time to fight back against the reapers. But because we must rally the entire galaxy and essentially all sentient life to fight back, the drama factor will increase, and perhaps the dark tone of sacrifice and war with respect to the geth, the krogan and the quarians. So overall, I think the series is moving in the right direction.

No. Well it doesn't sound like they're confirmed party members. It does confirm that they will be in the game. Party member or no.

 The one big addition that I want in ME3 is when playing as a Biotic, I want more power, more control. I want to be able to use my powers to their fullest extent. Shepard is the hero of the entire galaxy, therefor I feel that if your playing as a biotic, his biotic powers should be second to none.  A small tweak that could help with this is just adding more impact, more force, or more "ooomph" to the powers. Its not very rewarding to use throw on an enemy just to see him die from lightly touching a wall. If he bounced off the wall, maybe the wall breaks apart a little bit, maybe some extra sound effects to go along with it, I feel that would be visibly rewarding to the player.

As far as new powers go, maybe be able to move/throw objects from a distance, or use the environment (walls or ceilings) for more damage. Or use the biotic energy in a more "hand to hand combat" style, such as in the fight between Samara and Morinth. For example, there could be a power that lasts maybe 15 or 20 seconds that gives Shepard a biotic barrier and allows him to get up close to an enemy without taking much damage and then he does a biotic powered punching combo. 

The long range powers like throw, warp, pull, singularity, ect. are all great and should absolutely stay in for ME3, but I really just want to unleash the full potential of biotic abilities, and maybe just tweaking the presentation of those powers may really help the experience.

I feel the same way, but at the same time, I don't want shepard to pull a Kratos God of War mutilating kill with biotic powered fists (think Hercules from GoW III) lol, it just doesnt fight the character or the combat. Maybe in a  few cutscenes or renegade/paragon moments? I also dont want to see shepard have a knife or blade during combat. the melee could be a little more elaborated though. Good point you brought up, I think it is a little overlooked.

you have to admit it, it's the most interesting part of game, you explore complete new world, also I hope story will be good as ME1 and not dumbed down like in ME2

The thread was apparently... unstickied.

I am not aware of the reasoning behind this decision, but if it's a problem concerning this thread, I'd like to hear it so that I can change it.

Oh well, I guess that we'll have to help this thread survive on it's own. Too bad though, I considered it a valuable tool for posters, since it was actually used as a source multiple times and the threads about 'Will this be in ME3' actually dropped.

@OP regarding returning squadmates:
You'll notice the source is careful not to name any specific squaddies and implies some will not return (as squaddies). To me, it strongly suggests a return of the VS, which most of us supspected all along, at the expense of the (potentially deceased) ME squaddies.

Mind you, I can very well envision all surviving squaddies being used as "temp squaddies" like Liara on LotSB. The downside being that such "temp squaddies" show little or no aknowledgement of your current squaddies.

Keep things as is for the time being. We should be getting new boards dedicated to ME3 sometime in the next few months. That would be a good time for a third version.
