I've bookmarked this, I have very high hopes for Mass Effect 3.

It sounds like it will have all the good of Mass Effect 2 combined with Mass Effect 3 plus new good features and polishing making it the best game in the series and possibly the best game of the year.

Yeah, Mass Effect 2 is a very good base to start developing.

And I like all of the new features so far. Weapon mods were awful in ME1, glad they fixed those.

I liked some of the visuals of the ME1 mods(chemical rounds), but yes - ME2 got it fixed.

Nah, I meant that I am glad that they are fixing them in ME3.

Sure, yeah, they fixed the inventory in ME2, but they didn't improve it, other than making it decentralized. All they did was cut fat from here and there.

Wow, I know that Illusive Man couldn't be trusted. Hunting Shepard? Even if you give that sick bastard the Collector base?!

SMH.

Also I want to say I am ecstatic that Liara is back as a squad member.

It's awesome she's back as LI (most likely) and squadmember, but at the same time it makes me p*ssed couse I really like the idea that she whould have the shadow broker army behind her now. How can she take care of bouth things at the same time? Will we see the shadow broker base again?

She does have that little VI drone to take care of things.

Also, from the Gameinformer article (dunno if this was said): Jaeto, one of the original Salarian colonies, will be featured. Another interesting feature is that human melee combatants may be encountered.

Here's to hoping Liaras SB status makes her a little like Mordin, in the sense that she has useful reasons to talk to her, and maybe she's remotely tapped into the SB network from the Normandy?

Would be awesome.

Dont forget Liara has her little Drell friend too - he can look after the base whilst she's off with Shep :D

It's also possible the game start with Liara finding herself "unemployed" (aka her base was destroyed by the Reapers or Cerberus).

From IGN website:

What characters will return?
So far, BioWare has confirmed the following cast for Mass Effect 3:

The Illusive Man

Garrus (if he survived)

James Sanders (NOT the soldier in the trailer)
Liara T'Soni

Kaidan Alenko or Ashley Williams (the Virmire survivor)

Legion (if he survived)

Wrex (if he survived)

Mordin (if he survived)

Ambassador Udina

Captain Anderson

Notably missing: Miranda, Jack, Tali and Kelly!  Seeing how these are romances from ME 2 they better be in ME 3!

I wouldn't really call Kelly a romance.

Yes they better be!!!

It's still early and if I'm not mistaken Garrus and Tali were confirmed a few days just before ME2 was released and their very popular. So it's going to take a few more months.

It is not a question of IF they will be in ME3 but HOW important role will they play.

So far, BioWare has confirmed the following cast for Mass Effect 3:

The Illusive Man  Confirmed to play a prominent role as an antagonist

Garrus (if he survived)  Confirmed as squadmate

James Sanders (NOT the soldier in the trailer)  Confirmed as squadmate, a young Alliance soldier who has finished his tour of duty.
Liara T'Soni  Confirmed as squadmate

Kaidan Alenko or Ashley Williams (the Virmire survivor)  Confirmed as squadmates

Legion (if he survived) Has been heard or seen during the demo, unknown if squadmate or not

Wrex (if he survived) Has been heard or seen during the demo, unknown if squadmate or not

Mordin (if he survived) Has been heard or seen during the demo, unknown if squadmate or not

Ambassador Udina Appeared in the demo, listed under 'Other Appearances'

Captain Anderson Was a squadmate during the demo, but Bioware said that that was just a temporary solution, not a squadmate.

Yes, these are from GI, added a few notes. ;)

I think I have missed that, could you please tell me which page it is?

Here P, Brenon says melee combat as "sticks" in one post and as for Salarians you already mentioned it.

http://social.biowar...ex/7021128&lf=8

Also "Melee attacks will gain more focus" add that each class has it's own.

ME3's combat seems to look like it will clean the floor with Gears of War 3's combat system. I like that a lot. ME3 may become the best third person shooter in the market. I saw GoW3's trailer and once again...... they didn't add a thing to the combat system (3 games of the same stuff, now that's kind of sad).

Actually Sanders's role is for the new players. Besides being a new character, which means he is easier to connect to someone new to the series, he is also diplomacy noob which means his role there is to ask questions in such a way that someone who is playing ME for the first time would be asking himself therefore explaining the universe to players. I think it's a fantastic idea from Bioware.
