EDIT: Also, I recently began replaying ME1 on my new (pretty high spec. computer) and the elevator load times are pretty fast, so I think it was more of an issue for people with slower computers (as I had when I played ME1 for the first time), so the same implementation might not be as bad considering more people have faster computers than they did 4 years ago. :bandit: But it would be great to see them do more with it, per your suggestions.

Have you played Kasumi and Arrival?
There are some nice hidden loading sequences there.

@Aradace
ME2 did have a limited selection of uniforms.
The problem lied in the fact that there were multiple species (human, asari, turian, salarian, drell, krogan, geth) so applying the ME1 system was impossible.

I didn't buy any of the non-free DLC, but I guess I'll check Arrival out some point (and LotSB since it got so much buzz)

Good to see that the idea is already addressed.

Another cosmetic issue that I don't care about much, and has been discuessed to hell... SEALED SPACE SUITS IN SPACE!!!

:innocent:

So. F**king. Stoked.

I mean, I was reading the confirmed features and I felt like I was seeing the itinerary for Christ's second coming or something....

I kind of miss everyone having their own armor, plus the fact that there was different classes of armor, light, medium and heavy. The different classifications and armor types plus the ability to add modifiers to the armor was an aspect I liked in the original Mass Effect.

I also miss some of the abilities that soldiers had in the first game. Like a unique ability for each weapon, along with immunity and adrenaline rush. I used all the abilities, from overkill, assassination, carnage, immunity and adrenaline rush. They were all pretty awesome. These abilities along with the armor classes and modifiers for both weapons and armor made Mass Effect a very good rpg experience.

I felt that they streamlined the abilities too much in the second game. I'm not saying it's worse, but different. Nonetheless, Mass Effect 2 was a great game that I have played through several times, as a soldier still. I miss the 'tank aspect' that the soldier had in the previous game as a damage soaking machine, especially with my fully modded Kassa Fabrication Heavy Colossus armor; combined with Master Immunity and Master Adrenaline Rush, Shepard was a beast.

Jack's VO on Twitter:

"Worked a bit more on a great video game today...nice to work again with one of
the coolest directors in the biz :) Love you guys @__________"

twitter.com/courtenaytaylor

The link after the @ leads to HERE

So it looks like this:

"Jack's voice actress to make a return in ME3? [33]"

Wasn't for Bioware...yet

Given that the ________ account seems to just be a random Japanese resident, my guess is it was her way of "censoring" who she'd been working with that day and wasn't actually meant to point to anyone's Twitter.

What Mass Effect needs more than anything else (besides Kaidan of course) is banter. The ME team can take a lesson from the DA team. There was no banter in ME2. I just finished playing it (for the 4th time) and thought it was freaky. People talk to each other especially when they're on places like Omega or Illium or the citadel, but not in ME2. There was a tiny bit in ME1 but none in ME2. Not to mention that the Dragon Age team dropped the banter wagon in DA2 and didn't put as much in it as they did Origins but even DA2's banter was way more than ME1 or ME2. I can see not speaking much while in a battle but when they're walking through Illium or Omega, you shouldn't have to click to hear banter. It's like Sheppard's team doesn't even know each other when they're spending months together on the Normandy and taking Miranda and Jacob who used to have a thing, they don't say a word to each other. It's crazy.

I can't wait for the game!!! I do agree with the above poster, banter was very much missed. I hope it can come back in some form for ME3. But banter or no banter, I will probably be way too distracted by the exploding epicness happening around Shepard to pay attention to the squaddies talking.

I'm just wondering if there's any information on what level of DRM the game is going to use. I'm a huge fan of the Mass Effect series, but depending on how restrictive the DRM is, I'm afraid my values will prevent me from pre-ordering or even paying for the game at all.

Dear OP,
Another user (from another post) translated some things from the new GameStar magazine which holds details for ME3 (they are a little more detailed than GI in some places), Predi1988 wrote:

"Alright, so it's basicly the same content as the GI article (yes, I read it elsewhere, how rude from me), but it's spiced up with more local coloured humour, and writing style.
So the main things are (you can look it up in another threads too):

- You start months after ME2 on a trial regarding your actions in the Arrival DLC, and they still not believe in the Reaper threat. Then the news broke in that an invasion is coming, and than you can see the Reapers yourself, destroying everything. They start the invasion on Earth, and you have to escape.

- You escape with the modified Normandy SR2. The Alliance inpounded your ship end they started studiing and rebuilding it.

- You will keep your abilities form ME2, and they can be upgraded forward, and there will be more morphed, and alternate version (take that want-more-rpg whiners)

- the shooting gameplay will basicly stay the same, but now every class can use every weapon, but with restrictions in numbers. The soldier will be the only one who can carry all of them. (I'd wager that the vanguard and infiltrator can carry three, and the rest can carry two)

- The AI will be more sophisticated, and they will think as a unit, taking advantege of their specified role (healing, support abilities, etc.), and the environment (one crew lay down supressingf fire, the other flanks you)

- So there will be no more stay in cover, wait 'til the blood veins disappear. You have to change positions more, and be tactical about it. but the cover systerm will be more fluid, and you'll have more moves, like rolling, jumping over obstacles on the move, and varied melee moves.

- You can pick up every dropped weapon, and the weapon mods will return, so you can make your armory more diverse, and not just by statistics. Every mod will change your weapon's appearence.

- Cerberus is out to kill you, but there's no explanation why. I think there won't be 'til the release of the game. Or more like I hope so. But they really serious about it, they won't just send goons, but elite cyber-space-ninjas. (they told that melee attacks will be more in need, maybe thats why.)

- There will be an interactive comic for newcomers, or if you want to start a new game.

- The confirmed possible squadmates/cameos (wasn't specified) are: Garrus (of course), Kaiden/Ashley, Legion, Wrex, Mordin, Anderson. And the confirmed new companion James Sanders. He represents a newcomer for the galaxy. He's experienced but didn't see as much of the galaxy as you. (I think he's mainly there for the newcomers, but come on who starts an rpg-trilogy with the ending.)

- The weapons will have more punch, especially if you hit the different weak parts of different enemies. You can even shoot down parts of their armor for more effect, or to slow them down.

- When fighting the Reapers you will fight ther husks, but from now on they will be more varied. There are pictures of rachni husk and a batarian husk.

- You will take part in space battles, but it's not specified how. And the battlegrounds will not be small arenas with many obvious cover, but larger spaces with more possibilities.

Well basicly that's all. If I'll have time, I scan the pages, and upload them. If not, then sorry.

PS: If there are mistakes in spelling, or anything than, consider this. I just got home from a 12 hour shift in my workplace, and I only slept 5 hours."

Well there is a bit of new information regarding (no surprise here) "no one believing you re: the reapers" but what I'm glad of is:

- So there will be no more stay in cover, wait 'til the blood veins disappear.

No more red veins. Thank god.

I'd love to see what Shepard looks like when s/he's rolling. It's going to look ridiculous, I guarantee it! I have a feeling it will be next years 'Mass Effect meme'.

Unforunately it doesn't exactly say that there will be no red blood veins. I think they'll probably return, they'll just be less intrusive than before..

Nop, I highly doubt it. Brenon Holes said a month ago that they are aware of the red veins and were at that time, and possibly still are, working on that. As for roll, I imagine something like this

I figure that the soldier will have a move sort of like the krogan charge
and be the only class that can knock hostiles down with a basic melee attack.

wouldn't the Adept do the most damage in melee?

Just got my GI mag and read the article.  And I just want to put this out there real quick to all those folks that said there were going to be repercussions for people doing "Bloodbath Runs"

*clears throat and revels in victory* I...told...you....sooooooo.  Casey has clearly stated in the article that you will NOT be "punished" for having one two or even more of your ME2 people missing.  To quote that part of the article, it is as follows:

....However, players shouldnt feel cheated if they lost a few allies during the course of the series; the goal is to reward gamers for playing how they want to, not to penalize them by withholding content."It'll be different, but not worse," Hudson says. "That's part of the fun of being able to do different playthroughs.  It's not that something's there, and then it's missing.  You get to see what's different, and what is there, and what changes."

That bolded part is for the folks who were wanting players to be punished for doing the bloodbath runs.  Just thought I'd stick that out there that not only are we NOT being punished for it, but we are being rewarded for playing the way we want to play B)

Ok, /rant off lol

No, ME 2 rpg element is worse than ME 1

That's the general message of my post.  There was less of an RPG element in ME 2.  I missed a lot of the soldier abilities from the first game and the differing armor classes, and armor between species.  Actually I  didn't want to use the word 'worse', but the RPG element, especially for soldiers I find weaker, but I still loved the game overall.

Same, I loved the ME story and ME 2 story wasn't too bad but as for the class elements the Adept had been nerfed to the point where i felt like a low health and way weaker version of the soldier with gloves that projected warp and such.... then you play DA 2 with no Arcane Warrior.... not sure what BW is up to.

Awwww OMG. it all sounds brilliant, I know it isn't confirmed yet and no one knows. But Thane wasn't mentioned and some others. . I hope they will come back. AND ALSO, they may be only temporary :) So thats good. But still, this is gonna be one hell of a game! Thanks for posting.

It won'tbe spoilers until we find out for ourselves :D
