Honest to god, the first word out of my mouth when I heard that "news" (cause really, until the game actually comes out, it's all rumor and speculation...) was BULL****.

It was bad enough in ME2 with Kaiden getting promoted and now outranking me in the Alliance, but now he gets to be a friggen' Spectre too?!  <_<

Hey you were gone for 2 years and then went galavanting off into the Terminus Systems where the Council keeps their noses out. Not to mention the Alliance wants nothing to do with you (until Arrival of course). Do you think VS was just sitting on their butt the whole time?

Last I remember they were doing high-rank covert-ops missions in ME2 anyway. With the first (and only) human spectre gone mostly rogue with Ceberus, it was pretty obvious that humanity would push for a new Spectre and who better than VS?

Not sure if I'm keen on the idea of blowing enemies to bits, to be honest.

neither kaiden or ashley are anything like spectre material. that is just sensationalist BS if true. All it does is reduce the meaning of becoming one in the first game and maintaining it in ME2 to zero. worthless.

I look at the scans and a lot of the info on team members are speculation. The author is speculating for most of them. For Thane he says, "We don't EXPECT him to be back" and for Jacob he says the exact same thing.

Like I said before, Humanity needs a new Spectre and who is better than VS? You can't say Garrus because he isn't human.

I don't understand why everyone assumes that VS is incompetent and weak. For all we know they could of progressed leaps and bounds in the past 2 years.

Considering what I heard and saw on Horizon, I'm not holding my breath for them being something special.

Got a summary of the PS3M article from GAF:

-Casey Hudson says, the game will have some epic moments, as well as 'smaller, more personal moments' that exceeds the previous 2 games. The player will start realising things from Shepard's personal life. He will have to deal with the consequences of the sacrifices he's had to make.
-There is a new charged-up melee attack where Shepard uses his Omni-Tool to inflicting a big burning hit.
-Earth's megacity in the game is 'Seattle' meets 'Vancouver' as they sprawl into each other in the American North-West. That's where you'll spend your time on Earth. So not London or New York like previously mentioned. Describes the planet: 'It's curved, futuristic buildings bathe in beautiful light as the sea laps into the waterfront and docks.' They also saw the aftermath in which the Reapers decimate it.
-Obvious: Your choices will all have an impact in ME 3 such as the genophage, the collector base, your LI choices etc.
-Players won't miss out on content because of previous choices. An example, you run into Conrad Verner but it could be someone else for another player.
-The Turret that Engineers can use won't decimate enemies, but distract them.
-Gunfights are quicker and more deadly (confirmation).
-Confirms you visit the Geth-occupied Quarian homeworld Rannoch, Sur'Kesh (Salarian homeworld) and a human mining-operation on Mars.
-Visually it's tapping the heels of games such as Killzone 3 and Crysis 2, with 6 months development time left.
-The Rachni decision may haunt you in ME 3.
-Confirms character list: Ashley, Kaidan, Liara, James Sanders, Garrus, Tali (apparently she has unfinished business with Shepard), Wrex, Mordin (the plot dictates that he stays close to Shepard), Jack (she has matured, softened up a bit), Legion (will be back but don't expect him to playable). They expect Jacob to be dropped.
-Character customisation will be as extensive as ever.
-The action, rather than the all-linear affair of ME 2, will be more along the lines of Uncharted.
-New Cerberus troops are called Phantoms and Assassins.
-Shepard faces full-on bosses in the game's story. Some are really huge. One part, you have to lure a Reaper up to a Thresher Maw so they can duke it out.
-"Many of the core story levels are built around the largest, most dramatic moments in the galaxy."

Horizon was a mission to discover whether Cerberus was actually under the missing Colonists, which used the whole fixing defenses as a guise. Obviously they weren't expecting the collectors or the seeker swarms. I don't know exactly what people were expecting from the VS on Horizon?

If it had been any other character, the results would of been the same. Even if it was Shepard.

I almost wish the game could come out a little sooner, because I guess this is just the tip of the iceberg.

At least give us some gameplay, BioWare.

While I certainly don't like Jacob (and I only romanced him as femshep because it's one of the only times in the game where she acts like a woman, flirts in a semi convincing manner, and smiles) I REALLY think it's a bad idea to just drop him. He needs to be a fairly large character in terms of the Cerberus sub plot, at least.

Also, I will wail if we get a tiny three second glance at Kasumi. Yeah, I know, I know, DLC character. But she is awesome! She should also get fair role in the game, even if it's only for two or three missions.

ME3 is sounding more and more epic. Proper boss fights? Uncharted-style action? Mature Jack?

Can't wait for E3.

E3 is in June, that's when the big trailer will come. In the meantime, expect more screenshots during April, and the first gameplay videos towards the end of May.

The 'Just drop him' stuff was...inspired journalism, if you know what I mean.
Bioware never said that Jacob won't return, at least as a cameo.

They treated Shepard like crap and you say its fine that maybe fine in your Shepard's mind  . But Bioware did not give us who hated what those clowns did to our Shepard any real way to respond to them.

If it is the husk in one of the screenshots, his mouth looks like cuttlefish. So the Proto-Reapers were probably like this.

C'mon guys, stay civil. Both Tali and the VS are returning, there's nothing to fight about.
