It's because Shepard's death is nothing but an easter egg, not actually part of the story that can happen and still "make progress" like the Ultimate Sacrifice in DA:O. That and it's been said so many times that the ME trilogy is (and only is) Shepard's story, which directly indicates no place for a different protagonist. You might as well treat that ending to be non-existent.SavesTheDay wrote...
Why even have the option for Shepard to die at the end of ME2 if the game is just going to ignore every decision you make and say that Shepard survived the suicide mission? The choices you made in ME2 would then be pointless because the only way to continue the game would be to make the choices BioWare wants you to make. I thought they could do something like Dragon Age 2 and just import the world and all the choices you made, not the character. (If your character doesn't make it to ME3.)

Well, Shepard is aboard the Normandy during the teaser, I think.Ezohiguma wrote...
One thing though... Just don't blow up the Normandy... again.
And the volus will ride to war! With the Bionic God! YES!

I wonder if there will be any RTS elements. I mean, if Shepard's a natural leader, and he's assembling a big fleet...

I can't wait for the Mass Effect 3 DLC.
It's not ignoring anything, if Shepard died then that's the end of the story and you have to continue with a new one. I don't know what you expect to happen when Shepard is the reason that the trilogy exists. They didn't make the game for someone else to be the hero, Shepard is the hero.SavesTheDay wrote...

If there was multiplayer it would be worked on by a completely different part of Bioware so it wouldn't take any time away from the main Mass Effect team.gesco420 wrote...
The feature I don't want is the multiplayer. Instead of MP spend the time working on a cool new single player feature.
LOTSB definitely, only makes sense to because of all the features you get and specially with the Shadow Brokers tools I think that will play a big part in ME3. Bioware said they wanted to bridge the gap between ME2 and ME3 with DLC, so I think the DLC's are just as important as ME2 itself. I was hoping they would do a DLC with Ashley since they did a big one with Liara, tho I didn't like Ashley there should have been something as well with Kaidan, 1 dies in ME1 so maybe make them the same DLC just swap characters.HaggardPunk wrote...
i hope they continue more of story from the me2 dlc like the LotSB, Overlord and Kasumi? and i hope that we get to go to darkspace?? they should do the lazarus project on saren and he should become a squadmate???

Bioware confirmed saying ME3 will the last with Shephard's story, sounds like their will be more games from the same universe but how could it possible measure the amount of intensity that ME has done with the Reapers and saving the universe. Maybe Shephard dies and theres still a threat but that would be unsatisfying. I love Bioware and have faith in them and it would be a shame if the Mass Effect universe is gone forever.

What would bet better would be a pre-battle tactics screen, so you can set part of your army to flank, another to assault from the front, and have some snipers in a tower or higher ground, if we're dealing with ground forces here. Then when you start the mission/battle those who you moved would move and flank and snipe as the battle rages on.Phaedon wrote...

I doubt it.
