Re: VS Spectre... I would personally like it better if they were simply being considered for Spectre candidacy. And then they could be assigned to the Normandy so that Shepard could evaluate them as Nihlus did.

One tidbit of information I'm craving at the moment is if weapon selection in ME3 applies to squadmates as well as Shepard. So will I be able to give Liara an assault rifle and an SMG, or will she be stuck with the pistol and SMG? Bah, our lack of ME3 information is disturbing.

Not that I think "Defector" is remotely accurate, but the heretics were geth too, and they managed to disagree with the majority just fine.  Also, Legions's not "just a platform".  Legion is a collective of 1183 runtimes on a unique platform that has been largely out of contact with the rest of the geth for an extended period of time.

Things are looking better than I expected for the bits I want.

In a previous forum, I said "As long as I have a Revenant, Tali and Garrus as teammates, explosive or incendiary rounds, and an N7 Breather Helmet, I'll be the happiest guy in the country", and from what screenshots have shown, and the news here, I've got half what I need to launch a few fireworks... Hooray.

That´s what I asked myself too...And I wonder we can mod their weapons as well! That should work, would be like in ME1 ^^

And I wouldn´t say we lack ME3 info....we got too much if you ask me =P (story related ^^)

I'm pretty happy with everything I've seen so far, with the exception of Ash letting her hair down. My favorite thing about her character was that she was kind of Tomboyish, pure Marine etc, yet she had the poetry thing going to balance out her character. Letting her hair down just doesn't seem like Ash.

That's a petty thing though. I'm REALLY happy about what I've seen of the squad so far. In my pure (original playthrough), Kaidan, Tali, Grunt, Thane, and Miranda are all dead. Of the survivors, it looks like my favorites (Ashley, Garrus, Jack) could be full squadmates, with characters I just wasn't into at all (Samara, Legion) getting cameos at best. I am disappointed to see Jacob might not be in the game at all (maybe he'll get the Navigator Pressley treatment?), but overall, very happy.

And I have zero problems with Ashley being a Spectre. She and Liara were my squadmates for all of ME1, meaning she did every single thing that I did, including killing Saren and saving the Citadel. She also set the nuclear bomb on Virmire, preventing the universe from getting wiped out by Krogan Clones...something Shepard sure as heck doesn't know how to do.

As for why the team would break up if Shepard is arrested:

Garrus: He'd probably stay with Shepard, but the human Alliance wouldn't allow him to just chill outside Shepard's cell. He is a Turian, and relations are fragile at best.

Grunt: Dead in my game, but he needs adventure. He's not going to sit by, twiddling his thumbs, waiting for Shep to get out on good behavior.

Jacob: Cerberus, and apparently isn't going to be in the game anyway.

Jack: Obvious problems with her criminal record. She needs to hide.

Legion: ...he's a Geth.

Miranda: Dead in my game, also Cerberus, and needs to hide from whoever her dad is.

Mordin: Not sure on this one...would he be in trouble for Genophage?

Samara: Justicar, her oath will not allow her to be imprisoned, as specificied in her recruitment from ME2.

Tali: Dead in my game.   Like Garrus, might be willing to stay but not allowed by human alliance.

Thane: Dead in my game.  Obviously a wanted assassin.

I think this would a little silly, really. How many spectres in the history of the Council would have had their status revoked twice?

I would imagine he'd still be a Spectre if the status was conferred in ME2. It'd be a clunky piece of plot to explain how Shep had once been a spectre, then died, then been made a spectre again, and then fired. It's like something out of Family Guy.

Not to mention that It's a little difficult to think about how Shep can realistically gather up allies from the other Council Races to go and help Earth *without* being a Spectre.... the second game could get away with revoking Shep's spectre status as he was supported entirely by non-council means and operating in areas where the authority wouldn't mean anything. Not so in ME3.

We pretty much already knew about husks and rachni but anything new.....hmm I don't know. I guess the more races we gather the better.
