All I know is this: We better get some sort of inventory in ME3. I don't want ME1 level of ridiculous inventory management, but I got terribly sick of seeing all my other crew members wearing the exact same outfits throughout the entire game. I LIKED being able to suit up my other party members. I also got sick of having *no* loot at all really.

Ugh, I know.  All we got was being able to change the colours of their outfits.  And you're right, no loot whatsoever.

Oh.. and GET RID OF THE THERMAL CLIPS. That was so stupid. The Mass Effect universe took a MASSIVE technological step backward with that, and then the devs decided to claim it was a 'technological advancement?' For real? They took guns that never ran out of ammo, ever, and could sustain fire forever almost (so long as the shooter was careful), gave them limited ammunition 'clips' that could run out in the middle of battle, and call it an ADVANCEMENT? Preposterous.

Thanks.

Also, so true.  I was actually able to get my assault rifle to the point where it actually never overheated no matter how long I held down the trigger.  It was amazing.

Will the Uber-Collector's Edition be released in Aus with everything? Casey, please tell me that it will be. I will pre-order this no matter how expensive.

[edit] While I do despise the thermal clip system in ME2, I do believe you are onto something and with a little tweaking, it'd work.

Notice that in ME1, the weapons heated up and overheated. By having thermal clips (rarer and with different ratings) you can swap the sink in your weapons so instead of waiting for it to cool down, you could expend a clip and start firing again.

Up to you, although 'taking back earth' doesn't necessarily mean that the reapers themselves have invaded and taken earth (perhaps earth has been taken by indoctrinated organics as a distraction while the reapers get closer to the edges of the milky way).

I'll change it to 'Commander Shepard has to take back earth' just to be safe. :)

I think is safe enough to say that the reapers are invading the earth directly... I mean, if you see the trailer posted on the mass effect web site, you can see the reapers over london.

Any news on when the collector or uber collector editions will be on sale/pre order?

It is confrimed by the EA Store that ME3 will cost 60$ for PC. Image IPB
I think you should add this fact to the list because it is a price raise of 10 bucks.

Isn't $60 just about the average price for a brand new game anyway?

Nop.
The first game with this price tag was MW2
Then AC2
SSC
MoH
AC:BH
CoD:BO
maybe starcraft? I am not sure.
(I might not be 100% right)
The only EA game in the list is MoH.
so no it isn't the average price for a new game.

Technically speaking, having weapons that overheat every few seconds would be a very bad tactical idea for anyone other than an infiltration group. Suppressive fire anyone ?

This post is old... I have re-edited the feature. Only the standard editions have been announced, btw.

As for the price, surely it could change at some point before the release of the game ? I am unsure as to whether as I should include it or not...

It will likely be $80 for the collector's edition... unless the UBER one is separate and includes more wich may raise the price to $100 . I'll pay that without hasitation.

I don't see it either, the source says it was a mod, who is not a developer. I would keep it up for now.

Might as well keep it for now then. But I do consider including this article somehow.

The soldier seen in the trailer pops a thermal clip after shooting, so these will be returning, it seems.

Can't really add it as a feature, but this is probably true.

don't worry about the termal clips. talked to one of the guys who is the member of the team who made the render trailer (believe it or not, doesn't really matter to me), and he said that the thermal clip pops out because of the game mechanics in mass effect 2. it's not based on ME3's mechanics.

so you shouldnt speculate about gameplay based on the very first teaser.

and multiplayer in mass effect 3? Jesus, that would be the most ridiculous thing i could think of. A multiplayer spinoff, maybe (actually, no).

Not that the Blur guys would know of ME3's mechanics.

I personally hope for no MP in ME3. It's shepard's story, not shepard's and his counterpart's story.

This actually appears to have been a comment made by Pacifien, who is not a Bioware employee, the actual post seems to be different as well.

I'm fine with no multiplayer and having a spin-off multiplayer game later. That would work out for the best I think.

A quick question for the thread itself, if any more story spoilers comes out of the woodworks on ME#, will you hide them or warn people with a spoiler tag? Or is this an "at your own risk" thread.

I don't mind either way, but I just wish to be forewarned.
