Me and a friend was discussing KoToR the other day, and he complained it didnt work on his windows 7. Not even with compatibility mode. I remembered they had re-released Planescape: Torment a while back which i bought.

So i was thinking, will they Re-release KoToR? when The old republic comes out? are there any possibilities?

Did your friend try installing the game in a custom folder, i.e. one named "games"?

Don't know about KOTOR, but it works with the BG series.

I know GOG (Good Old Games) has been able to tweak a bunch of the old games they have licenses to sell now so that they're completely Vista/Win 7 compatible. Unfortunately they don't have the LucasArts license (yet.) Hopefully they get it sometime soon, and then their version will be good to go.

KotOR does work in my Windows 7, both of them. It's odd your friend cannot.

You mean, you have the Best Of PC and it works on your system in Windows 7? Because neither KOTOR 1 nor 2 runs on my system. And I have tried everything!

I think BioWare should...no, MUST do a remake of kotor just like tomb raider anniversary. BW has state of the art game engine, actors are still working on BW's different projects and the plot has already been created way back in 2003. Well, i say they'd better put the plot into new graphics, dub Revan and attach a mass effect-like dialogue wheel. The game will rock

Asking Bioware to remake the game from scratch is a bad idea. I doubt developers want to remake an old game. I would like to play the game on the 360, it runs like garbage now. All Bioware has to do is a patch so that its playable on the 360 and maybe add some nicer textures, skins, graphics, or whatever. They don't have to go crazy on the visuals either just give a little flavor and then sell it on XBLA for $20. I'd pay the money for a working version of KOTOR 1 with some nicer visuals and I think it would sell well on XBLA. Its one of the best games ever made any many of those that loved it would buy a game we could play on the 360 with an HD update and newcomers that loves star wars would get it to too for $20.

There are some really great texture mods for this game. My husband played it recently w/them, and it looks sooo much better. I also had the issue w/not working on Windows 7. I read a bunch on how to fix it, but have been to lazy to try any of it.

KOTOR should work normally when you install it in windows 7, but else there are ways to fix it.

This link helped when I installed it on my brothers computer, since he too had some problems with the game.
