 Based on the leak of ME3 by EA, the story will focus on



[SPOILERS]





Shepard saving Earth from the Reapers.


But my problem is it seems they are forgetting the whole point of ME1, where the paragon Shepard was all for species equality, and that the reapers are going to wipe out ALL civilization. Now it seems that the reapers are only targeting humanity, which completely disregards the first game. In ME2 it made sense, but if the reapers come back and are only going after humans the entire story will be flawed. Then again, the renegade ending for ME2 basically meant that paragon shepard would also have to focus more on humanity if ME3 is going to not be 2 completely different games (Paragon/Renegade)

My hope is that Shepard is the savior of everyone, of all species, not just humans. I want to travel to the far reaches of the ME world we've all heard about but have never seen (ie. Asari homeworld) to rally everyone against the Reapers., but now just to save earth as that brief summary suggested. I know Bioware won't disappoint, but it seems like humanity will be the primary focus in ME3 which would be disappointing for me.

If they are going after Earth, the fact that Reapers want the humans out of the way first does not conflict with the themes of galactic unity. It's not like the Reapers would JUST destroy Earth and then go home. They just want them out of the way first, since they have foiled the Reaper's plans more than once during this "Cycle". They may even be going after Earth specifically because they want a new Human Reaper to help them conquest all the rest of the species in the galaxy.

Don't worry about it. There's no way the Reapers will only go after humanity. The back-of-the-box "oh noez, save Earth!" thing is to draw people in who are unfamiliar with the series.

I would be hugely disappointed if it was all about saving Earth. Reapers should be going after every single major homeworld, cripple the moral of the entire galaxy in a single suprise attack at the beginning of the game. Picking on humans just feels so lame and boring...

Thinking about it, gathering a large multi-species army just to defend Earth wouldn't make sense, considering the council's 'This is an Alliance only issue!' in response to the human colony abductions, so I'm hoping there's something else going on.

I know right. I really hope there is more to this, just saving Earth is ridiculously anticlimactic. It needs to be a galaxy saving game, not a single unimportant planet saving game!

Seriously, I know it's been said but they have plenty of reasoning to take humanity out first at this point. We are pretty much the only species taking them seriously. Once they have Earth, they see the rest of the galactic species of little threat.



You're even flat out told us in ME2 that we have their attention, so this makes complete sens IMHO. We've been ****ing with their plans, now they want to prove a point to the rest of the galaxy that "resistance is futile."

I want to believe it, but I have grown cynical and thus can never accept it till i see it for myself in the game.

My Earthborn Human-supremacist Shepard will stoically wait till the blasted consumer society on Earth is destroyed, then he'll bring to the Reapers what's coming to them, and set the best of Humanity (i.e. Colonists & Spacers) on a path of glory and power!

I'm guessing that saving Earth will be only one of the homeworlds we've got to save (they've build up the other inter-species struggles for so long that they can't *not* have us resolve every major galaxy-wide problem in the final game), and even then we'll probably have the choice between siding with the Alliance or Cerberus in order to achieve that - which would basically be a choice between species equality and human pride?



So I think it'll still work out. I don't know if it'll be too reliant on the outcomes of your previous actions though - they didn't do much of anything in ME2.

Hasn't this been covered ten times already?

It would make sense for the Reapers to want to start by taking humanity out of the picture first. Earth, being the human homeworld, is the perfect starting point to accomplish this. Why would they attack humanity first? The answer is in ME2.

Additionally, that is only a fairly generic product description. It shouldn't be taken at face value when it comes to the actual story/plot of ME3. We'll wait and see. Mere hours left.
