It's funny how confusing the deadpan delivery can be, isn't it?

No, why do you ask?

It would get caught in the midget's chest hair.

Yes, I could see that being an issue.

Does this all mean that we all agree to disagree? It seemed like a redundant topic when I barged in.

You do not get SIE. SIE gets you.

Only if you deliberately antagonise her.

This is correct. The problem is that the only reason to have a cake is to eat it. A better saying might be, "You can't spend your money and save it too," because there's no benefit to merely having a cake - it just goes bad after awhile.

It has to do with wedding cake.  It's supposedly good luck for the bride not to eat her piece of cake, but instead to save it to ensure that her marriage lasts.

So, she can have the cake (for luck) or she can eat the cake (it's yummy), but she can't do both.

And now it makes sense.

As long as DA2 doesn't do what ME2 did and make the obtainable armor in the game very limited for Hawke, I'm cool with it.

But the clauses are still reversed.

I've always wondered, for how long is a bride supposed to keep the cake anyway? Not particularly practical to stuff a whole wedding cake into the deepfreezer indefinitely just for the luck of it.

I believe you eat it on the one year anniversary.

At what point does the belief you can bribe something that doesn't exist with a bit of old cake become practical anyway?

Yes, two more months and I can get that damn box out of my freezer.

A wedding cake.

For a full year.

...for luck's sake, man. Things people come up with.

By the way, congratulations in advance.

No, I'm rather saying that it's not as one-dimensional as "she's a **** and Bioware included her in the game so it'll sell well with stupid drooling fratboys", just as in real life women who dress up this way are not universally "****s" or looking to sell themselves to stupid drooling fratboys.

The answer of, "Just make a lot of swappable outfits" strikes me as approaching the problem of the cake in the same way.  The question is one of choice, having a cake or eating it, or having armors that do not change versus ones that do.  When you solve the problem by saying, "MORE CAKE" you're trying to solve the problem by trying to get rid of the problem.  While that might be simple if you live in a bakery and it's easy to make yourself another cake, it's another thing entirely to simply ask it of someone else who has time and resources to consider.  I mean, do you know what Bioware would have to cut from the game in order to devote sufficient time to have enough custom outfits to satisfy a majority? I sure don't.

Can I cut through this slice of cake, please?

I think it's fine to have unique outfits for the party members.  Morrigan gets her unique outfit, no problem.  But Morrigan can also wear the same Tevinter mage robe that my PC mage can if I see fit.

So, Isabela gets her ridiculous outfit.  No problem.  But not being able to put anything else on her... problem.

If you're going to tell me that it's because the companions have different body models that make it necessary for them to have unique outfits and nothing can be swapped for them, I'd want to see dev confirmation that that is the reason.  And probably understand why they chose to do that.

I'd like to see that confirmed as well.  I'm on the fence with this change overall, in fact.

I seriously doubt it's because the companions have different body models. That would mean all sorts of headaches when it comes to animations, especially the fighting animations.

Of course, on the other hand, each companion is supposed to have a unique specialization, so I dunno.

We are talking about a company that hacked off some horns because they didn't want to include two more helmet designs, though. It's safer to assume that BioWare didn't create unique body models for the companions, especially since they already went ahead and made unique rigs for race and gender.

That seems implicit by their reasoning that they're doing this to make the companions visually distinctive, and by their references to the fact that they've modeled -Aveline's- arms off of some fairly muscular man's arms. (as opposed to all female characters')

Ah. But see the fixed outfits allows you to play how you want but takes away our choice.

I'd be fine with unique character outfits that could be upgraded, along with being able to place the characters in generic armo (generic in this simply means armor the PC can use too that's not exclusive for plot reasons).

That way people who don't want to bother changing outfits don't have to and those of us that want to play "dollhouse" can.

Indeed.
